Pretty fascinating stuff here. My favorite was the wall with cases full of skulls where was one simply labeled “idiot.” It’s a smaller museum for sure and once my family and I realized we saw all there was to be seen, we were left with a, “That’s it?” feeling. Despite that, there are things in this museum that you won’t see anywhere else. Pictures are not authorized and that was okay.

Very unique and great place to visit. So much to see and beyond fascinating to see all the things that they have acquired over the years.

Fantastic! Incredibly informative and engaging. It has been on my bucket list and I'm so glad I finally got to see the museum in person

Went on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It was busy but the staff were friendly and they limit occupancy so the museum never gets overcrowded..

We have an award winning gift store, and you can visit the store without paying museum admission. In addition, we also have an online gift store at http://muttermuseumstore.org
I believe you can call specific phone numbers for individual displays to receive more information, as well as walk around by yourself
There is a public parking lot with an attendant right next to the museum. Fee is by time. The museum will take between one and two hours to view and glance throught the reading. Buy time accordingly.
They don't, but you can buy a membership for someone else, which let's them go as often as they like. Check their website. https://collegeofphysicians.org/mutter-museum/mutter-memberships
I can't say for sure but the museum is down town in a very nice area.
I would think anthropology, pathology, and general medicine would all be relevent to being a curator for a medical science museum. I, however, am not any of those and would recommend visiting their website and checking out the staff directory. You'll find curators' names and email addresses there so you can get more information directly from someone with the career you're interested in.
Its stated that part of his brain is there. Just pathology slices of his love.
Adult $18 Military with ID $15 Senior 65 Years and up $16 Students with ID $13 Youth (6-17) $13 Child (5 and Under) Free
Any age. It is more appropriate for teen or older I'd say
Yes. I just took my 11 year old. He got bored quickly though.
Medical irregularities through history
Yes their is a fee. But the fee is beyond worth the time u will have. Am sure u will get ur $20 Worth out of this place. Hope u have the time of ur life. COWBOYEDD.
Yes. They have auditory tour as well although it was down for repair when I visited.
We do honor the American Alliance of Museums cards, one complimentary pass per cardholder, per visit.
They have group tours for $45 as long as you have 20+ people to the group. If you mean you have a relative on exhibit here you might have to contact the Museum directly to find out if you get any perks from that. http://muttermuseum.org/visit/group-visits/
It depends. I like to read everything, and I would say it took me less than 2 hours for the top and bottom floors, including the Spanish Flu exhibit.
Right across the street is a lot, kind of pricey but convenient. Plus off-street parking is around too.
You can buy tickets at the museum. I did so with friends two weeks ago.
Meter Parking. Parking garages. If you're coming to NJ, easier to park at patco and take the train over and walk.
Yes
I didn't know but checked their website. Yes. ACCESS Discount (walk-in only, not available online) - Show your Pennsylvania ACCESS Card and photo ID to receive $2 admission
Not that I recall, though there are other vertebral specimens, including spines with scoliosis.
This is a museum of medical deformities and history of early medical tools, surgery techniques, and skull collection from every cultural locations worldwide. P
Not really. The Museum entrance has steps to enter. The museum itself is tiny, cramped and is on 2 floors connected by a staircase.
Went on a Saturday and it was crowded. I imagine the weekday crowds are less. It wasn't crazy crowded, but it would have been more enjoyable with fewer people
It really depends on how in-depth you want to get. If you take the time to read all the displays, I'd say about 2 hours.
No, his brain was sliced up and sent around the world for analysis. There is a microscope slide that has a piece of his brain on it.
They accept both.
I was also going to suggest 23rd and market. Not too expensive and close to the museum.
No. Medical students are also at the reduced price but not free
you realize i am talking about nyc penn station not in philly. cant walk if i live in nyc. uber not happening. tys all lol
Yes, everything is cute in a gory kind of way. My favorite is thier postcards. Instead of "I ♡ U" it'll say "I- a detailed anatomy of a gross looking but totally realistic heart-U". Or "can't get you out of my mind" will have a pic of the human brain instead of the word mind...lots of tshirt and calander with mutter museum type versions of pop culture art. Definitely stuff you can ONLY get at mutter museum.
Nope. Dr mutter was based out of Philadelphia and the majority of thing were out of his personal collection. Lmao I've done a bit of research and probably just sounded like a douche.
No they will be closed the 8th for Parade.
No. Its a normal brain and they just have a sign that says it was 15% bigger. I was tricked by the advertisements for it. There is glass slides of his brain but not the full brain.
