First reply is accurate. Plus the cost of a tool box if you don't already have the required tools. If you don't, I think the box is about 500. You also get paid to go to school tho, not adequate to the field rate at all however.
After you pass the test you have to find a company to sponsor you. Usually you'll have to go around to different jobsites and talk to the guy running the site for that company.
