Update review : I previously gave 5 stars review and now I’m updating my review. I was contacted by Linda regarding my lease ending and she asked me if I’m planning to renew or move out, and I told her I’m planing to move out because I needed a bigger place. I gave my key and asked about inspection. I was told will contact you in few days to let you know. After I moved out I get a call from Laura ( who took over after Linda left) soliciting me for rent money after I moved out. I was very shocked. She claimed that it wasn’t enough time notice and we are responsible for rent if the complex wasn’t able to rent it to another tenant. I still didn’t get my deposit too. She also stated that apartment is in good shape and we passed inspection but we are “ responsible” for the apartment rent until they rent to another tenant. I’ve never ever heard of such a thing where anyone responsible for rent after lease date is over. I didn’t have problems while staying there but I just couldn’t believe what happened after I moved out. I’m definitely escalating that legally. I really don’t like posting negative review but I have no other choice. Original 5 stars review : lived in this complex for a year and a half. I had a great experience. Prompt maintenance service. Very professional management. Linda was great property manager who was always helpful.

I’m not one to bash anyone or anything but I feel that anyone who plans on moving to this apartment complex should know that their are definitely mice in the apartments as well as spiders…. I encourage you to find somewhere else so that you can live and sleep comfortably. I don’t live in this neighborhood but I’m out there on a daily basis and shook after seeing mice in the apartments.. it just doesn’t make any sense for their to be mice in an apartment complex

Yes. But they do have an exterminator that will come out if you report any. I have seen a few in the three years that I have lived at Sommerset. Pretty much every apartment will have issues like with bugs, they are hard to control due to garbage, etc. My suggestion is to keep a tidy place and you should have very few issues regarding them. By the way, the ones I saw were all outside except for one that was inside under my sink near garbage disposal. Overall, my experience has been a good one at Sommerset.

Saw copperhead in bldg (725-B) sitting at end of walkway near entrance. Spotted it at 9:30pm. Slid under cement at end of walkway. Was told there's other reports. I'm deathly afraid of them. Was very fearful walking in today!! Anything being done?

Not sure if anything is being done, but i use to work for a Nature Preserve in Cary and dealt with many snakes including copperheads. Copperheads are the only venomous snakes in most of wake county. Their bites are rarely fatal and fhey are not aggressive snakes (they dont chase you, they typically freeze up or try to slither off as first defense). They are extremely common in this area snd are just about everywhere, you may not see tgem sll that often because they are very well camouflaged. They come out mostly in the early evening ss the weather starts to cool off and are particularly active in NC in September snd october so you may see thrm more often in the coming months because it us their breeding season. Unfortunately there is not a whole lot you cam do to keep them away, other tham keeping the surrounding area generally free of habitat. But the apartment compkex has some woodland, shrubs and loys of pinestraw which is all prime habitat for these critters.
