Beautiful place to hike
Joe Boocheck
6.6 miles of splendor. A great hike. Plenty of parking. The day we hiked the weather was perfect. Low 70s, low humidity and sunny. Most of the hike was a canopy of beautiful trees. The paths allowed for side by side hiking but at times it was single file. The trails are extremely well marked and meander around a picturesque lake. It’s an easy to moderate hike with gentle inclines and declines. Horses are permitted in parts so you’ll occasionally need to maneuver some poop. I imagine it could be muddy after a rain storm in some parts. And in some areas you’ll need to navigate tree roots. Otherwise a comfortable pair of sneakers should suffice. Along the blue trail you’ll find benches and rest areas with restrooms that were well taken care of. We parked by the dog park because we brought our two dogs. The park allows dogs leashed. I recommend parking by the boat launch. It’s more convenient. During peak months small row boats are available for use.

A great place to take a long walk, meditate by the lake and watch the swans! My little fur baby loves being there too!

Yes, the trail has very minor hills, the whole thing is mostly runnable. One side of the trail (looks like cars drive through it) has a lot of sand
Yes they're open

Tonight's very breezy and beautiful the moon is shining there's lots trees of green trees with both chipmunks and squirrels around, clean bath and friendly people's.. there's a big dog park on site for small breed and big dogs there's a Walmart not to far away theres picnic areas theres a fishing area with a beautiful view friendly staff and you can stay up to 2 weeks at a time.
We do not have Basketball Courts at Blydenburgh. For a list of what is offered, please see our website: https://www.suffolkcountyny.gov/Departments/Parks/Our-Parks/Blydenburgh-County-Park
Blydenburgh is not a trail sanctioned by the local trail building organization, Concerned Long Island Mountain Bikers(CLIMB). They are in charge of all of the mountain bike trail building that goes on in and around the island. There are few trails that arent sanctioned that are mountain biking friendly, like Sunken Meadow. However, this park is strictly a hiking path, and there is reason behind it. If many people decide to use the trails for mountain biking, it will cause erosion on the trails from the tread and will severely damage the trail if done. This is why there are designated hiking trails and biking trails. Most hiking trails aren't mountain biking trails, however many biking trails can be used as hiking trails. Hope this clears up any confusion.
At the boat rentals. It's on the map. It's access road is not on the map. But, there is a sign.
For every park there are Parks & Rec Rangers. You may not see them often but if you see a green pickup truck or someone in their main building, you can ask them and they'll certainly know.

Think it's a Black Racer - good varmint deterrent
Free parking all week and after 3 on weekends
Yes I believe so.
This is one of the most dog-friendly parks I have been to. Their dog park is big with a small forested walking trail where your dog can run free. And like someone else said, you can walk your dog anywhere else in the park as well as long as they are leashed.
I'm pretty sure. I have not seen any signs saying different. Alot of people walk dogs there, let them swim. They also have a dog park that is fenced in where they are off leash. Its my favorite park around its so beautiful. It really seems like you are upstate ny when walking through the trails.
You have to call the park office
I don't think so
Is this a good place to see a sunset?
They haven't yet
Camping is available call for more information !
It is a great place for pictures, but since it is open to the public and I don't think they cater to weddings. Here is a link to some places in Suffolk County, however, that do: https://www.longisland.com/long-island-parks-and-weddings.html
I'm certain there is someone there on Saturday but I'm not sure if you can buy an extended pass there. You can buy the Suffolk county Green Key on line. http://Suffolkcountyny.gov/departments/parks/green-key-card
Yes weekends only (Saturday and Sunday)
You can fish but might need to pay for a permit. Ask at the booth when you come in. Also there are many picnic tables under the trees. No tents unless you bring one
On holiday weekends it's recommended any other weekend no reservations needed
Bathrooms are clean multiple locations plenty of water for dogs too.
Always need a license..
yes
I'm camping at blydenburgh I've seen a lot of big mushrooms but I don't know if they're edible
I don't think so, but you can always play on the grass!
Yes dogs are allowed at the camp sites.
I agree wit Charlie, if the RV are allowed I think ok, but best to check with the office
Yes. Theres a dog park near the campground and your allowed to walk with them in the trails around the lake.
Yes, fishing is allowed but there are very strict regulations. Bass is mostly catch and release only. The other variety have to be at 9" or more and only at certain Times of the year. Please check the website for these restrictions.
There is a place that rents kayaks on Harbor Road in East Setauket. Not sure of exact location or if they still rent them in the off-season. You might want to Google where to rent a canoe, rowboat & kayak. Good luck!
You can BBQ, and there's no charge for parking. There is a charge for camping and you need a Suffolk County Green Key for that. A green key is $15.00 for 3 years and camping is $15.00 a night. You have to be a Suffolk County resident for the green key, but they have non-resident camping rates as well. There are picnic areas throughout the park.
Hi. I actually work with the boats. Here is how pricing works: you pay $20 up front. That will cover you for about 2 hours. If you go out for 1 hour you get $10 back. If you go out for 2 hours you get $2 back. If you go out for 3 or more hours you will owe us money when you return the boat. You have to give us a photo I.D to hold on to while you're out . W.e are open at 8am and we stop renting at 2:30. Our last day is Labor day.
