Perfect way to get into New York State without the hassle of JFK. If you need to head into the city, it’s a $25 bus ride (timed with play air flights) and takes about 1:30hrs
Small terminal, everyone is super friendly and makes travelling a joy not a chore.

Security saw that I left my computer but did not tell me. I noticed when I walked away the guard just push my computer basket to the side and sort of half look at me. Now she did not move the bin to the empties she pushed to the side and let me walk away. After 30 minutes of them going through the computer they paged my wife. My wife was not with me. But all her credit info was in the computer.
Don’t trust security.
I’m sure they are not real police and if they are that another strike against them. Everything else was good. Everything seemed to be understaffed except all the security hoarding in groups.

Great airport. Efficient and clean and nearby. Would fly out of here every flight if I could.
There is a coach outside in the evenings for the Norwegian flights. 20$ which takes you port authority in new York Manhattan. Then get the subway to the Bronx
Is there a direct bus or van service between Stewart and JFK?

There's only certain airlines that fly into Stewart. They are Allegiant,Jet Blue, American and Delta. Check with those airlines but I belive the flights are limited. I know they fly up and down the east coast, not sure if they fly anywhere else to or from Stewart. Good luck!
No direct flights to Chicago... Can take delta to Detroit or American to Philly and catch a connection to Chicago.
Are there any public transportation to Beacon? How long does it take to there? Thanks.
Mark Robert | Oct 3, 2019
Jennifer Jansen | Oct 3, 2018
There are shuttle buses, not sure about the schedule, that go to the Beacon Metro-north stop. You can connect to other local buses from there. It is about 15 minutes from downtown Beacon to Stewart
Can i leave my car in extended parking? Is there a weekly rate?
A Google User | Oct 3, 2019

Yes there is long term parking. The daily rate is $10/day for the long term lot.
What happened to the grand plans for Stewart Airport? Airfares are so ridiculously expensive at Stewart. I image it's due to high costs passed onto the airlines to fly out of Stewart, but I'm not sure. A real shame. Just way too expensive!
Steve Miller | Oct 3, 2019
Tom Privitera | Oct 3, 2019
Unfortunately we have to pay a premium for the convenience of being able to fly in and out of our own "backyard", when you consider the time and the hassle of getting to and from one of the bigger airports, the chaos, the amount of time spent waiting on long lines with hundreds of other miserable people.... paying a little extra to fly out of Stewart International Airport doesn't sound too bad.

Margaret Mannion | Oct 3, 2019

It depends on where you are coming from, if you are local then Uber would probably be your best bet.

My daughter 17yr old is flying out of Newburgh on Allegiant air on Friday. Will my husband and I be permitted to take her to the gate and wait with her until she boards the plane??
Debbra Padgett | Oct 3, 2019
Jonathan Simpson | Oct 3, 2019
In my experience, it depends on the person checking your daughter in. My wife was leaving with my daughters and she let me go to the gate but she had 2 kids under 2. Since, your daughter is older it might be harder to accomplish. Let us know if they let you.
What is the most time/cost efficient way to get to Poughkeepsie from Stewart Int'l Airport?

Are flights still leaving for Shannon Airport in Ireland out of Stewart International airport as of April, 2019?
The following link is for Coach Usa shuttles, depending on where you are located, this may help.

You can take a bus and then transfer to the subway to port authority bus terminal in Manhattan. The bus fare is $ 2.75 per person with free transfer to subway. It takes longer than driving, perhaps 2 hours. Look up the time on Google Maps day of travel. At Port Authority Bus Terminal you can get the shuttle to Stewart. People have been reporting that costs $20 at this time. Most people in NYC who dont drive, take this shuttle. We are usually using Stewart for the cheap fares.

You may want to call. It's not something worth taking a chance
I could definitely be wrong but pretty sure it's only domestic flights. I was headed to Jamaica and had to use this airport to fly to Philly then take another plane to my destination, buut it could just be that there's no straight flights there anyway, we had to take a very tiny plane, I just get the feeling that this airport is just a helpful conduit. Good luck!
You could also check Westchester County Airport in White Plains NY it is an International airport but again a smaller airport it's about. 65 miles from there to Stewart

Hi, norwegian has bus systems that you can book in advance. Mean to remember that it takes 1.5 hours or someone there depending on the traffic conditions
If your driving, take 87 North to 84 West to exit 5A .. Thats the Stewart Airport exit. Or.. Take bronx river pkwy to sprain Pkwy to taconic Pkwy and get off the 84 West exit to exit 5A.
There is a Bus that goes from Stewart to Secaucus NJ, which costs $ 20 to $ 30, the journey via bus is almost 3.5 hours.
There are a couple of ways to get to Secaucus NJ from Newburgh, check out the following link:

Is there a bus or train I can take near Stewart airport to Newark, NJ or Union, NJ?
Linda Moxley | Oct 3, 2019
David Cooper | Oct 3, 2019
Bus to port authority... then train to Newark OR taxi to metro North to GCS, subway to port authority then train to Newark. Easiest and fastest way would be a one way car rental.
About an hour by car. Take 84 west to Taconic south or New York State 95 south over Cuomo/ Tappanzee bridge. Waze. It as 95 backs us badly in am rush hour.
How far is this airport from the prison, I've gotta fly a family member home
Hi. Does anyone know of a shuttle bus or train from Stewart Airport to Yonkers or the Bronx? Will be arriving on a morning flight.
Bridget McDonnell | Oct 3, 2018
David Cooper | Oct 3, 2018
You can taxi to train station then get off along Harlem-Hudsen line Or bus to NYC port authority 90 minutes, then train it back north along either Hudson or New Haven trains . I would suggest a taxi across the Hudsen. River. Much faster
No, there is no direct bus from Stewart International Airport to Saratoga Springs. However, there are services departing from Stewart International Airport and arriving at Church St & Broadway via Newburgh, NY, Albany, NY and 256 Station Ln. The journey, including transfers, takes approximately 6 h 17 min.
This was taken from www.rome2rio.com
There is a bus to New York.. to Port Authority.. $20 @
There is a bus that will take you to Manhattan, it cost 20 dollars, then you can take the subway to the Bronx. The bus takes 1 hr 20 mins. You can book your ticket online.

There are none direct. You could fly on american thru philly or delta thru detriot
I agree on the rental car, however, the following info is from an online source:
NJ Transit operates a train from Stewart International Airport to Jersey City every 2 hours.
Tickets cost $10 - $15 and the journey takes 1 h 8 min.
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Stewart International Airport to Jersey City via Stewart International Airport, New York, Ny, and Port Authority Bus Terminal in around 3 h 20 min.
Flying from Stewart to Buffalo Niagara will take approximately 5hrs, I couldn't find any direct flights, all flights had at least 1 stop over.
In terms of driving, it's 346 miles which will take approximately 5 and a half hrs.

I will be parking at Stewart Airport for three weeks on a vacation to Norway. Will I need a reservation for long term parking? And what is the best rate I can find? Thanks
A Google User | Oct 3, 2018
Rob Alder-Bateman | Oct 3, 2018
Long term parking is$60 per week, not sure about reservation, don't think its necessary, but check out their website.. happy holidays 😊
This is from the Coach USA website:
Coach USA's Stewart Airport Express offers fast, convenient transfers between Stewart International Airport and New York City! Timed to your Norwegian Air flight, the Stewart Airport Express is the only direct transit link between New York City and Stewart International Airport.
Coach USA's Stewart Airport Express offers fast, convenient transfers between Stewart International Airport and New York City.
OR
There's also train service available. From Grand Central Terminal, get Metro-North's Hudson line to Beacon, From there, you can take a bus or taxi to Stewart Airport, about 10 miles away.
I'm here right now. No private lounges, but airport is almost empty and very quiet. Lots of seats and no one to crowd you. There is a small cafe that serves a small selection of wines/beer.
I agree with the earlier mentioned suggestions to either drive your own car and pay for parking or use a rental car that you can turn in at Stewart. I've found some good deals with Budget before. Depending on the duration of your journey and what kind of deals you can find for a rental will determine your best choice. Unfortunately the train doesn't connect very close to Stewart yet😜 Safe travels!
That's really not the kind of question to ask on Google Maps.... but no, there is no real limit to the amount of cash you can bring on a plane, at any airport.
There's short term and long term parking available.
Short term is $3 per hour, maximum stay 24 hours for $30.
Long term, first 24 hours, or part thereof, $10. Weekly max $60.
Cash credit and debit cards accepted
Closest train station is in Rock Tavern you would need to get a taxi there. It's Metro North railroad. You could check their schedule and see if it's possible to get to where you want. It arrives in Penn Station. You would need a taxi or something to get to Rock tavern station good luck
No there is no train at the airport. You may need a cab or Uber to get to a train. Or there is a $20 coach bus to port authority bus terminal in Manhattan if that helps
Thanks. I am seeing much the same everywhere. It doesn't look like Amtrak serves Beacon, so would need to take Metro North to Poughkeepsie to catch Amtrak. Do bad our transportation systems are not truly multimodal in a convenient manner!
Shortline has a terminal in Newburgh NY look at Coach USA website you may be able to take a shuttle to determine from airport. No train from that area to Pa and to go to NYC and back is a waste of time and money Good Luck

Mr. Smith, please type Allegiant Airlines into a Google search box, and you will find all the answers you need. Google Maps is for reviews and directions. Be sure to double check your spelling and you'll have much more productive results.
Get the coach service into new york. Google the timetable... they're not very frequent! Then taxi or subway to his car rental location. And hope they're still open
Uber would be about $200 USD for that trip. There's a bus at the airport $20 USD each which will take you to the port authority bus terminal in new York city, from there you can catch a LIRR train from Penn station out to long island. You won't save much by using public transport. Alternatively, you can rent a vehicle from the airport if you're authorized to drive. This may be your best bet if you don't have transportation out on long island. Enjoy your stay!
You can get beer in the store. There's a bartender station inside and he takes cc as well as cash. My husband had a few beers from here as our flight was delayed, and I had a cranberry/vodka.
Either American airlines through Philadelphia or Delta through Detroit as there is no direct flights to Stewart from Houston. You could also look at Albany which is about an hour and half north of Poughkeepsie or Westchester county airport which is about an hour south if you cannot find the flight you are looking for into Stewart.
Well, SWF is shared with the ANG, which is right next to the base tucked into the corner of RWY 27 and RWY 34, The base houses C-17s, KC-130s (sometimes C-5s, KC-10, and rarely the VC-25 "Air Force One") But yes, there are Miltary planes but they are parked at the ANG
There's dedicated parking directly beside the airport (I'm not sure if it's specifically for staff or not though!) and an extremely courteous policeman directing traffic. I would say he'll get you as close as possible😊
I'm unable to find a definitive guide to answer this question! Based on common times for international airports my own knowledge internal flights : min 1 hour, international 2.5 hours min
