One of the best museums I have been to. As a avid Jim Henson fan I was blown away by the exhibit, very fun and informative. The other exhibitions were incredible too I was very pleased I visited this little gem. A definite recommendation to anyone interested in film and moving image its a fantastic place and the staff were very friendly.

Cannot recommend this museum enough! So informative, tons of hands-on exhibits (with sanitizer present!), and permanent collection pieces that are just phenomenal. So well curated and produced. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

Yes, five minutes walk away on Steinway street & 34th ave
Hi Victoria, Adults pay $15 but we have discounts. Seniors and Students with ID: $11. Any kid 17 and under: $9. We also have free admission every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
A good look at the museum and activities will take roughly 3 to 4 hours, less than that if you just want to look without interacting with the displays that allow you to.
Sorry, our website is down but the museum is open. Tickets and admission are available st the door.
Well. I'm a fan of cinema and I would say it's quite good. There's exhibits of cameras and lighting equipment and also a voice over studio for you to play around with. A sound effects studio etc... It depends on how hardcore of a cinema fan you are. I would say it's good.
Parking is at a premium in that area, so parking lots would be hard to find and not close to museum
There's a coat check by the entrance. I'm sure there's space for luggage.
You can request your admission ticket directly at the Museum. However, if I am attending a movie, I prefer to book the ticket ahead of time.
Thanks for your interest. The Museum is available for private events, including weddings! Find out more here: https://movingimage.us/about/private_events/
Yes, the third floor of our core exhibition "Behind the Screen" is open. That's where you can find cameras, TV sets, projectors, and other equipment used in creating and presenting films and TV programs. The interactive experiences are also open!
As we are in New York City, the Mayor's mandate requires all visitors (ages 5+) to present proof of vaccination (along with photo ID for adults) and everyone must wear face masks. As of Dec. 27, all visitors ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated (two shots, unless you received the J&J vaccination).
Yes, but it's not open due to COVID-19.
Hi there! Admission for adults is $ 15. The entrance is discounted for seniors ($ 11), students ($ 11) and children ($ 9).
Yes, you can pay in person as long as they are not sold out for the day
The museum has been closed temporarily during the pandemic. We have been presenting programming online and at the Queens Drive-In. We have also been preparing our building and operations to reopen safely. An announcement will be coming in the next few weeks. Thanks for asking!
If your child is old enough to recognize and smile at some Sesame Street Muppets, then you're good. Besides that every age will find something interesting.
The ticket is good for one day, the ticket is a sticker that u put on ur shirt, they do have a packege if u would like to do more than one bad, but i suggest to just get one.day becaz i bealieve u can go through it in one day
Haunting unlikely, though the thought of being there after closing, amongst all those puppets (however much I loved them) in the dark, gives me the creeps.
There is street parking (at two hour meters) along 35 Ave, 36 Ave, 38 Street, and other nearby streets. The commercial parking garage PV Parking offers a discount rate to Museum patrons. More information available here: http://www.movingimage.us/visit/directions
There is street parking at 2-hour meters along 35 Ave, 38 St, and other surrounding blocks. There is also a nearby private parking lot, PV Parking (enter on 41 St, from 35 Ave), which is wheelchair accessible and offers a discount to Museum visitors.
You can buy tickets when you arrive.
In addition to the metered street parking, there's a lot at the movie theater a block away which charges for parking there during the day.
Hi I don't know contact the museum to ask them.
Parking is best on the street, using the meters that are there.
If you mean to tour the museum, I think that is entirely up to you. I don't think there is a time limit on a visit. I would say if you are there to leisurely view everything it offers 2-3 hours. They have quite a bit to see and a few activities, as well as a small gift shop area. Hope that helps.
Hi there. Nearby (about three blocks away), there is PV Parking. If you park there, we can validate the ticket for a discount. But the closest parking is on the street. Mon-Sat, you'll need to feed a meter (up to two hours). On Sun, you do not have to pay the meter. for more information, please visit http://www.movingimage.us/visit/directions
Look on their website
