A good look at the museum and activities will take roughly 3 to 4 hours, less than that if you just want to look without interacting with the displays that allow you to.
Start with a couple of hours, then adjust if there's a special exhibit you may like and or if you're one to read everything thing like me.
I'd say 2-3 hours depending if you're the type of person who casually strolls through exhibits or if you like to take the time to examine all the displays. I spent an hour on the Jim Henson exhibit alone.
