Great place to visit.

The museum is free, which I think is really great. Unfortunately we were very disappointed as there were very few exhibits and little was told about the story itself. Too bad.

I would definitely recommend National Museum of the American Indian as one of the best places to visit in New York City. The museum is really big and beautiful. The museum contains lot of details regarding the American Indians. The museum of filled with lot of information and at the same time it is beautiful and enjoyable. In the first floor they have a dedicated area for children as well as adults for some interactive games. Second floor is filled with lot of artifacts related to the American Indian history. The place is not crowded, very calm and visually fabulous.

Great exhibits! Very detailed narratives! Good mix of traditional, interactive and modern displays!

I don't believe do, but I would google it
Yes, it is very interesting and worth the trip! There's sizable collection but not like The Met. The entire exhibit is like one exhibit in the Met Museum. It was informative and the space is exquisitely well maintained!
Yes, there is an entrance on the ground floor and an elevator to access the display floor
We just walked in.
Yes. The museum is open. 10 to 5 I think
Yes we're open on VETERANS day
It's free, no reservation needed
Yes, they do.
Yes it is a federal government facility, but relatively low key for emptying pockets of metal, metal detector & x-ray of bags. Not sure if they have coat / bag drop off.
I think one visit of 2-3 hours would view the whole museum. It isn't too big
No tickets. FREE museum. Check their website for hours. They also have a beautiful gift shop. Enjoy!
Bowling Green station on the 4 and 5 (green) line has an exit/entrance immediately at the entrance of the NMAI.
Yeah, Sat & Sun 10-5
Yes it's free to public no charge, they even have on third floor where you can look for your ancestry as well free
They're mentioned and some artifacts if theirs on display
There's a park right in front of the building across the street. There is also a downstairs of the museum that I did not see.
Probably best to call the museum and ask a curator if you are interested in specific items.
Yes, but there aren't many outlets.
Not inside and even if they do I think it will not be the right thing to do
You can buy replica items in the gift shop. Here's a link to the online store: https://americanindian.si.edu/store
Not certain but by 10AM, it closes at 8PM
Took us about two and a half hours to go through everything. It was reaky cool, they had an audio exhibit where you scan like a barcode it and olays what the exhibit is about through a hand held audio player
It depends what time you arrive, I suggest you come around opening
Free admission, they do a metal detector security check at both entrances. The museum is quite large, plan accordingly!
Q train to Atlantic Avenue and transfer to 4 or 5 train to Bowling Green station
