Access to care here is terrible like most V.A.s . They have long wait times for appointments and absolutely never answer their phone. I've spent hours on the phone trying to get to a clinic to make an appointment only to have the system regularly disconnecting me after 20 rings. To get any appointments you pretty much have to drive there and walk to each clinic.

Participate in gaming when setting up appointments. Was told appointments where 3 to 4 months out l. Requested Choice and a appointment magical happened to open. This style of appointment makeing is called gaming and should be illegal.

Staff & physicians are first class!!!!!

Community cares sends me to a doctor with prisma health care he refers me to a specialist. This I thought was being covered by the VA well they didn't cover anything except the first doctor. I guess being 100% service connected doesn't mean anything in south carolina. Shame Columbia VA

Oh wow, v o. If some guy did that to me, I would get their name and then I would be standing on their desk. Shouldn’t tick off a female vet.
As a veterens that goes there the va send out letter several calls Billie there plenty of ways the va trys to get in contact with you including myhelthyvet also you can request at anytime a printout of your upcoming appointments in before or during the week you will get several calls until you confirm appointment
If you are 100% service connected disabled, or you have dental issue that is service connected disability, then you can go to dental clinic. Other than that, you are out of luck. VA Dental is only for those with 100% disability and VA approved service connected dental symptoms. So there's no walk in or sick all. It's all in the welcoming packet. Dental emergency consists of one that require immediate surgery. A tooth split in half is not considered a dental emergency. Hence you get the veterans dental insurance which is cheaper than the regular dental insurance.
yes! valet is available from 8 to 430 each weekday
Not an expert on the issue but I have heard that Rock Hill does get a lot of phone traffic and because their clinic is an outreach of Dorn, it would make sense for you to get redirected to the main hospital if no one was available to answer your call. The goal is to try to get you to the right people as quickly as possible and if that means talking to the operators at Dorn they should be able to transfer you to the person you need to talk to at Rock Hill. I hope this was helpful.
Dwayne, I believe your answer was once true. No longer. I get more consistent care and find care more available in the private sector. If the care provided by the V.A. were moved to the private sector but still completely free to veterans, I belive you would see an improvement in overall availability of care and more preventitive care. I'm not saying that I have not had good interactions with V.A. Healthcare. The medical practitioners are sometimes top notch. However, if I can't get to the doctor because they are either too far away or not available for weeks to months, the quality of care is irrelevant. Like all Government agencies, the V.A. Healthcare system has become a red tape nightmare that is management and regulation heavy.
Yes you can. If you're not already enrolled at the VA, go to Enrollment and Eligibility office (Welcome Center) and get enrolled. Make sure you bring a copy of your DD 214
Yes...the ext. Is 6495
So someone anyone can reply. THE.VA has a fully staffed dental clinic, with trained pro,s to deal with DENTAL probllems, but still refusing VETERANS who probally held the gate.open.for these pro,s to be able to do the job they were trained, paid, went to school paid to do. PEOPLE, in.order for.a better society, we need to become a better humane . I have to assume that the vet thats 100.disabled.shed a.diffrent color blood than the vet thats not gotten.what he or she.deserve yet. OPEN YOUR EYES AND THE DOORS. U get paid for one or all.
Yeah, you wont get an answer unfortunately. And if you manage to leave a voicemail, no one will ever call you back. When I saw my doctor on last month she told me there are a few departments you dont need a referral for in order to go down and get seen or set an appointment. I dont remember if GI is one of them, but you'd be better walking in to ask. The phone is a waste of time.
VA regional office. Located behind the VA medical center
I would get hold of volunteer services and they can help you
Not sure what 119 is, 544 is Dorn VA's code.
Bldg 114 is not the Main Entrance to the Hospital...but when you walk in the Main Entrance, go towards the elevators and make your 1st right and go down that long hallway(towards MRI)...that'll take you to Bldg 114...
Go to va.gov and sign up for my healthy vet then you can request a refill.
M-f 0730 to 1600
730am
Not sure you may need a appointment
If you don't mind me asking.....what department are you trying to reach....
No, not at this time.
I'm 57
They have yet to put this info out. Per my last visit 7 January 2021. I asked.
You have to call your team and primary care physician first
No, but they did send me to a specialist for knee and leg surgery(after falling and breaking it)at palmetto health because they didn't have a surgeon qualified enough to perform the surgery. It was paid for by the VA.
It's located in building 120 connected to the main hospital (building 100).
Yes it's in Richland County.
There is one in the VA near the elevators
Yes just in short staff
You will need to present proper ID and have a copy of your DD 214 discharge paper.
I wish it was that simple but apparently the driver has to be certified by the state VA. The driver has to have a physical, finger prints, HEPA classes, etc. The process is not a one day thing, we have had younger vets wanting to volunteer and drive but after 6 - 8 months folks threw their hands up in frustration.
Just come to the welcome center and request copies of any results and they will gladly print them up for you does that help you any?
I got labs outside of the standard 9-5ish times that they keep. They are available 24hrs but only for inpatients. Dont expect to show up any other time and be taken back. My doctor me, the lab tech was ok with that but when a 2nd person arrived she became very short and voiced that this was not what she was here for.
I wish I had an answer for that one.
I didn't have a problem when I went.
Be there at 5:00 AM for a good parking spot
The VA police do try to do their very best at being polite and accommodating especially to our vets and their families. Every encounter I've had with them has been awesome and I see them on a daily basis(with and without my VA employee I.D.) I've seen them giving rides to lost veterans and families and striving to make Dorn VA as safe and efficient as possible.
I don't believe so. I think the clinics are open Mon to Fri.

Yes you can.. get in the system. also setup on line and you can reorder on line and it will come to your home
On your computer.. myhealthevet.gov
There are several hotels on Garner Ferry, less than a mile from the VA.
Yes
Bld 100, main hospital
I'm pretty sure the Hospital it self will be... But I would call just to make sure
Not sure
Lower your expectations greatly, its the VA.
Two beds to a room.
Honestly to if you can try and get a civilian consult to check behind people
They've recently built a new parking shelter but the amount of parking is not enough for the amount of staff and volunteers.
Yes if you are not classified as unemployable through disability
