I need to get thru to someone in the GI dept. Do I have to come there just to talk to someone about a consult? No one ever answers

Yeah, you wont get an answer unfortunately. And if you manage to leave a voicemail, no one will ever call you back. When I saw my doctor on last month she told me there are a few departments you dont need a referral for in order to go down and get seen or set an appointment. I dont remember if GI is one of them, but you'd be better walking in to ask. The phone is a waste of time.

Its awful trying to reach someone by phone at the Dorn and trying to get appointments is even worse NOONE should ever have to wait months to be seen JUST AWFUL

It's horrible , I took my husband there because he periodly gets blazed , going bengise , and they set him up with group ... Do he need to talk to someone , uhhhh yes ,!!!!!

I would say that you would need a referral from your primary care doc to see gastroenterology.
