Why is it such a pain to get volunteer drivers certified to be able to drive County provided vans? We have a van but the process is way to long and it shouldn't be. 1SG Retired

I wish it was that simple but apparently the driver has to be certified by the state VA. The driver has to have a physical, finger prints, HEPA classes, etc. The process is not a one day thing, we have had younger vets wanting to volunteer and drive but after 6 - 8 months folks threw their hands up in frustration.

Take the issue up with the agency that owns the van. If answer is not to your satisfaction contact your state representative.
