Really liked it, but not a big fan of all the 'mission stations' although seeing the lines, other people loved it. This is the real deal spy stuff, great, but would have liked to see a section focused on spies in movies. Overall we spend almost 4 hrs there!

It was interesting with a lot of neat artifacts, but not worth the ticket price. My 16 year old son liked it.

The Spy Museum we didn't get to go in it but we went to the gift shop and got things great spot to look up in Washington.

Awesome find in DC! Had a blast here!!!

I had a blast and so did the 9 year old. Next time I'm getting one of the mission pamphlets.... I'd suggest snagging one on your way in. Makes it more interactive. When you finish go to 3.14 pizza around the corner. If you like a Chicago deep dish, you'll thank me after. Enjoy
There's a bunch of cute little games, but if your child is younger than around 8 or so I wouldn't bring them. There's quite a few mature themes and exhibits all around the museum.
Parking along the streets. Best way is to use public transportation or walk. Parking can get expensive.
Hi Adriana, yes we accept valid college ID from all countries. International agents are always welcome at SPY!
There is a whole little gnome section
They are around around $20. You can check their website for latest prices and you save a few dollars per ticket for ordering online.
It's a nonprofit museum that was started in dc in 2002 and ran by a board of former CIA, KGB and NSC members/directors. Very neat. Check out their website and go to the ABOUT THE MUSEUM tab and then HISTORY AND MISSION for more cool info.
Check website
There are special tours for kids. Sign them up for that. Check website for details.
About two to three hours depending on how crowded it is.
Easily 3 to 4 hours or more if you do all the activities and read everything.
Hi Joash, our Spy Store stocks cool drinks and sweet snacks. There are lots of great food and drink options nearby the museum too. You can find more information here: https://www.spymuseum.org/visit/local-things-to-do/
Call them
Not it's own restaurant, but it is next door/attached to a shopping center that has food and down the street from the wharf that has a number of restaurants.
i think its empty
Plan 3. More if its busy and you want to experience everything, read everything.
Alas, Agent Mark Davis has misinformation. Tickets to the Spy Museum are good for 24 hours. You can leave and come back as many times during that time span. For more information or tips for visiting the new Museum, check out spymuseum.org or call: 202-393-7798.
Not sure but my visit was a special event for the Deaf community
Adult $22.95, senior (65+) $17.95, child (6 & under) free, youth (7_12) $14.95 and Military $17.95
No free days/times. Banners outside says food court so there might be a cafe in the building.
No it costs money but it's totally worth it. Plan on spending more than 2 hrs here
Unless youre making a short day of it the metro station is right below the museum. Theres also a substantial food court in the plaza. Its busy but easier to make plans knowing where youll eat.
$22.95 adults, $14.95 kids, age 6 and under are free
Come with the ticket
I know there are a couple of nearby parking garages and there is street parking. But it's best in my experience to walk.
I am thinking 10+ also. There is one exhibit that might be inappropriate. However, kids will not see it that way.
The best way to get/ go there is public transportation ride the train green / yellow / orange / blue / silver line getting off at L'EFANT Plaza metro station
As of May 12th, 2019, the Spy Museum is moving to L'Enfant Plaza. There is a Metro (subway and bus stop) at L'Efant Plaza. At the ORIGINAL LOCATION on F Street, the nearest Metro (subway) stop was at Gallery/Chinatown. There us a bus stop is at F street and 9th Street.
The new location is at 700 Levant plaza switch dc
The countdown clock on their website says 47 days to go which puts reopening at the new location in L'Enfant Plaza around May 1st.
Yes. They are closed for now. ☹️
I think so. Just take a look at the meseum website tomorrow to make sure.
I knew they were moving, but I did not hear when. ..
Go online or at the museum. Go early or you will have to wait for a later entry time
They reopened allready at their new location but still missing many exhibits
It's working now.
My opinion: 3 hours, but it all depends on you, and your company
The Child Plaza
I have experienced very small waiting time, small queues to get in. Not very crowded inside either, you can move through stages fairly comfortable.
Prices are listed at spy museum website (reco checking since they may change over time). But be sure to check Groupon and take advantage of discounts on group bundle tickets.
There is a cloak room for coats and other items, but it is not checked. It works as a closet mostly
yes. About $20/adults A bit less for kids
Adult general admission online is $21, which is $2 less than in person. If you do a combo then its $30, which again is cheaper than buying them separate or in-person...& the Operation Spy Mission experience is total worth it!
Don't know. But the exibits are very good and worth to look around.
Enjoyment for all ages
I know they have a coat check there. I would bet they could accommodate your luggage
Trip Advisor has tickets for $18.95 for adults. We used them earlier this week.
They have discounted tickets for Seniors (65+), Military, Veterans, Fire & Law Enforcement, and College Students (with valid ID)
You have to be interested in history, war, and espionage. It is a museum after all. I will say its a lot of the same, for example theres about 100 spy cameras. The stories of how they were used in real life are whats interesting though. The 007 artifacts were fun as well. I was in there for a 2-3 hours. I think thats worth $20. If you dont think you'll enjoy it and the price of admission is a turn off then I'd say go with your gut and skip it. If you like the idea of the museum and dont mind the cost youll have a great time!
Ages 6 and under : free Ages 7 - 11 : 14.95 Ages 12 to 64 : 22.95 Discount for military, student , Fire & Law Enforcement, Senior Must Present id : 16.95
No, I went on a friday afternoon and the ticket line only took 3-4 minutes.
Yes, there are military discounts
Took my 14 and 11 year old boys last week. Spent the extra money for the Operation Spy. Kids LOVED it!
It's not a very large place, but it's full of exciting items and details that might take hours to inspect and enjoy
I imagine they would but it's probably best to contact the museum directly.
I recommend the metro. Inexpensive and there is a stop less then 1 block from museum.
It is really up to you and whether you like to read a lot of the display info and try the interactive exhibits. We spent close to 3 hours there, but could easily have stayed longer.
All guests must be 12+ to do Operation Spy
