Can never go wrong visiting a Smithsonian. This one was no exception. Bonus...quick one hour tour highlights what they offer. Post office open Sundays and it has a unique cancellation for any mail you send. Free post cards available to mail (postage not included).

By far the best Smithsonian - we couldn’t believe how amazing this museum was! The stamp history was so cool, and we spent much longer than we anticipated. The proximity to Union Station was a plus too. The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t much in the gift shop… the Natural History museum has three separate stores, while the Postal museum had only one tiny one. Not a big deal though… I’ll support USPS online :)

Yes. The entrance on the east side of the building has a ramp for easier accessibility.
Yes
You may have to pay for parking if you drive, but the museum is free to enter.
No designated parking there. However there is w/ walking distance. However, when going into DC I recommend walking or Metro. Postal Museum is right across from Union Station so taking Metro to there is smart.
It has returned to being open 7 days a week, except Christmas
I didn't know the postal museum had a train show, I was a tourist.
Yes....
Not sure. You can make a stamp with you photo and email to yourself.
Yes, according to Smithsonian's website.
The museum is just a museum. It's not a marketplace. Try ebay.
The museum is completely free. You can enter or leave at will.
They have some in the library
