That is a very big stretch to call a lobby of a work place filled with some thing a museum

Very pricey for what it was. $16 (with student discount) for some videos on Tutankhamen. Exhibition was misleading as we expected to see actual Egyptian artefacts. Museums should be free and more accessible! Not worth spending that much on a few videos and animations. It is also much more suited to children as the experience seemed to be at quite a basic level. There was nothing else to see as it was just an ancient Egypt/ Tutankhamen theme.

Lots of animations great for kids, but not much in-depth discussions on King Tut or the discovery of his tomb. For $20, it’s pricy for a 1-1/2 hours tour that leaves much to desire.

Awesome King Tut exhibit! Worth the visit!

Yes also seniors
David, there are quite a few Smithsonian museums that are free. This happens to be one of the ones that is not.
A good place to start is Google. Try to find a database of manufacturer's markings from the time period for the compass. Then use something like ancestry.com for the person maybe? Digging up info in this manner is never quick or easy work so take your time and just try to enjoy the ride. Good luck!
The rotating special exhibit is the only thing you pay for. The small history of national geographic exhibit is free. There really is no set time as it isn't very crowded. Just pay nad go in for the special exhibit.
Dupont Circle or Farragut North are the same distance from the National Geographic
Not sure but it is breathtaking and beautiful...ancient Egypt right now I believe but just call and ask
You likely need to research the Magazine's website to determine with whom you need to speak. This review concerns the National Geographic museum attached to their DC Headquarters. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/
Currently it's the Beyond King Tut immersive experience
There is no parking on premise for museum guests but you can use SpotHero (or other parking apps) to find nearby paid parking.
Nope, it is open!
The exhibition was all on one floor.

Yes, but also online: it was not crowed at all when we went
If you are in the city, uber is about $8 for up to 4 person. No hassle driving, parking or waiting for a metro. If you are at a walkable distance, then you would enjoy the walk there.
Choose the DC Circulator instead; it's completely free! You can download their App for buses schedules and routes.
The Queens of Egypt exhibit runs until September 15, 2019 is $15US $12 (senior/student/military) & $10 child.
Hi Diane, we're sorry we missed your question! We are actually open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Farragut north on red line is closest one. Farragut West on blue line shouldn't be too far.
Hi Corey! This year, Family Day will be on Saturday, July 20. Tickets go on sale in May!
Yes
I am unaware of the dates. However, I would love to visit this exhibit when they re-open.
They are closed for American Thanksgiving & Christmas December 25.
20 minutes will allow you to get a decent overview, but you could easily spend more time using the virtual reality goggles, reading exhibits, etc.
You should REALLY just Metro/Bus/Uber. But if you have to drive, the museum website suggests using SpotHero to find a space nearby. They only offer parking for certain events. Here's the link: https://spothero.com/washington-dc/national-geographic-museum-parking
That would depend on your budget, the DC Metro connects most hotels to this & other attractions
No, it is not. It is actually one of the only museums that cost money in D.C. Here are the ticket prices: Regular $20.00 Child (ages 5-12) $12.00 Student $16.00 Military $16.00 Senior (ages 62+) $16.00 Educator $16.00 I would suggest going to a different museum if you're looking for a free place to visit.
Yep! I would just be careful about drinking it in areas with staff.
Yes but not directly .... you have to walk about 5 to 10 minutes from the nearest station Farragut North. It is signposted on the sidewalks from the station
Each exhibit has a ticked price, Members of the society get a discount to exhibits & in the gift shop.
Parking is always hard to find in DC. Uber or lift is much cheaper and gets you from door to door.
No
$15 to see the Tomb of Christ exhibit. Less for students and seniors.
Farragut North (Red Line) is thr closest, and about 2 blocks south of thr museum. Prices are a bit lower if you are a member Enjoy.
Not sure
Its' a scam. Never expected National geographic museum to be so small. You can hardly spend an hour at this place, found very disappointing.
Seriously?
