Great place
Ted Voltolina
Such a great place to see a show, especially upstairs! Upstairs has such a quiet and intimate atmosphere. I sat and talked with one of my favorite performers for a long time before and after the show. Downstairs is also great.

As others have said WCL Philly is one of the best music venues in Philly. I’ve been to a number of excellent shows here, free and paid, in the upstairs lounge and in the larger, downstairs music hall. You can make a night of it by having a good meal and seeing a great show right there. They host artists of all genres so you can always find a show that fits your music tastes. Some great acts I’ve seen over the years were Judith Hill recently and Maggie Rose, Melanie Fiona, and Kandice Springs. Tickets are reasonable and staff is friendly and professional. It’s a great night out when you go to WCL Philly!

My favorite music venue! Member forever!

Monday – Friday: 10AM-5PM (10PM if a show/event is scheduled) Saturday – Sunday: 5PM-10PM (unless an earlier show/event is scheduled)
The street parking by the upper entrance ends at 8, so if you're there for an evening show, you won't have to pay much at all. You can also increase your time from the parkmobile app if you need to.
Hey Marissa - our website is currently down due to a nationwide Ticketfly outage, but you can still find info on our Facebook & Twitter pages. Tonight's Havana Nights event upstairs is free, downstairs '90s Old School Hip Hop Summer Party is $10 at the door.
Yes! The bar is accessible from all areas with any ticket type.
A few Black hometown favorites curate WCL shows and events fairly regularly. Keep up with The Bul Bey on socials - he is very Philly, and always working with World Cafe Live, The Franklin Institute, REC Philly, Black Music City, and WHYY to get local artists shows and opportunities
It's usually a lot of street parking available but there is also a parking lot across the street for a fee
Website?
Yes! Most events (including the Radiohead Tribute) are all ages, unless otherwise noted on the ticketing page.
Hi Lee! Tonight in The Lounge we have an indie rock show with Brother Moses from NY & Philly locals Dominy opening.
Hi Ann - the Foo Fighters are not performing at World Cafe Live. If you're referring to SOS Fest, it's a virtual festival with sets filmed at venues across the country. The Foo Fighters are broadcasting a set from LA, and it is free to watch on YouTube: https://yt.be/music/SOSFest
It varies depending on the show, when it starts and how many artists are playing. During the week usually 10 or 11pm.
AKA is the closest, about half a block away. (https://www.stayaka.com/aka-university-city) Other options include The Study (https://www.thestudyatuniversitycity.com/rooms.html) and Sheraton (https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/phlus-sheraton-philadelphia-university-city-hotel/).
You will be able to get into the mezzanine at 7pm when doors open. A limited dinner menu & drinks will be available on the mezzanine. If you'd like to come in earlier, you can dine in our upstairs restaurant with the full menu before you head down for the show!
Our monthly open mic nights are currently on hiatus, but we'll be bringing them back later this summer! First Tuesdays.
Yes
It depends on the band...but usually out by 10:30.
Don't think so
Verify the show is not sold out..otherwise you would be able to purchase tickets at door. Call ahead.
World Cafe Live has a variety of performers, including some occasional programs that might appeal to younger audiences, but mostly it's a venue for live, adult oriented music in several genres, including singer/songwriters, blues, rock, world music, Americana, roots, etc. You would have to contact them to find out about your own specific type of performance.
No as they say The Show Must Go On
My wife and i had tickets but i was hungry and we stayed at in our table for the whole show, it was great
There is plenty of metered street parking. While we don't have our own lot, there are several private lots nearby. Info below. Not sure. I would imagine 6/630. Not completely sure but i would call world cafe to check.
Friday: Joseph downstairs, Elizabeth & The Catapult upstairs // Saturday - Popa Chubby downstairs, The Truckin' Company upstairs // Full schedule and details here: https://www.worldcafelive.com/calendar/
Looks like standing room only.
Only if the show was cancelled
Honestly I think that's going to depend on who's playing and be subject to the rules for each performer(s).
Yes, first Tuesday of every month: https://www.worldcafelive.com/search/?q=philly+rising
The club is owned by WXPN, which is a non commercial college radio station. Contact them & you should be able to find your way in.
Taking the train is the best way to get here. Only a short walk from 30th St Station
Do not ask that here, this is a community help page, not being answered by the owners or operators of the business. Just check their website
Shows are almost always for all ages, they have wristbands to tell who can order alcohol
Yes you can buy tickets at the box office but they still charge fees. If you are a WXPN member and show your card, they will give you a discount.
upstairs stage is "coffee shop/cafe-style" seating, I believe 1st come, 1st serve. Downstairs, is 500 ppl of standing room, plus mezzanine and balcony. guessing you are prob either General Admission/ Standing, or the 2nd/3rd section balcony-level house-right.
There is meter parking along Walnut Street. Usually you only have to pay up to a certain time. I am guessing 10pm thete. So if are attending a show at night, you only have to pay up until 10pm.
There's a cashier by the upstairs restaurant. They'll have your tix there.
