Driving 7 hours from LA to here on labor day , it was such an amazing experience this place did not let me down. You can actually see most of the lake here and you'll learn some history of the people and houses where they usually live. Overall I really enjoy the view and I even see a hot air balloon when I visit!

A piece of heaven..

Beautiful, soothing and eye-catching site, it is a place you can spend hours and relax.

Great place to visit, it's a little busy so it's best to go early.

You need to be there before 10am on weekends if you want a proper spot to park. That being said, I've seen people park their cars on the roadside or near Eagle falls park entrance and then walk up to the overlook
Yes. It is called inspiration point. It is a good view of emerald bay and the island.
Yes reservations are needed maybe a year in advance you would need to call
There is camping at a few sites near Emerald Bay. Bayview is across from Inspiration Point and Eagle Point on lake side before Emerald Bay
Not exactly here, however there are so many places in the area
You need to reserve upfront. Many spotted bears in this area.
There's several places to rent Kayaks and the relatively inexpensive
beau
I don't know about it
I assume yes, but check the website.
My family and I stayed in a hotel in Carson city Nevada because it was cheaper around a week ago that we were visiting those places. It took us 1hour and 30 min to get to Emerald Bay.
Yes. They are allowed
Many of the trails and beaches don't allow dogs.
I'm not 100 percent sure - I didn't see anyone else using the grills. Just ask someone who looks official. 😂
No. U would have to walk downhill.
All the trails were open.
Yes. In lake Tahoe and on the Nevada side. All the casinos are open also with their hotels
I highly recommend Meeks Bay Resort. However, you need to reserve a cabin, or a campsite approximately 9 months prior to your anticipated arrival. There you can rent boats from the Marina and make your way over to emerald bay, Vikings Holmes, by water.
No
Not sure coz I went there 2x and didn't see someone dare to swim there, but you can kayak
Yes at the camping grounds in the area
I don't think there's any off road vehicles allowed there. Plus the terrain is extremely steep. I didn't notice any UTV's there. Its more hiking then anything.
You should be fine. It's definitely worth the effort.
The hotels are all located at the South Lake. which is not too far from Emerald Bay. Closer to it are the camping grounds.
Always check road conditions on caltrans website. Sometimes they are required
It wasn't when I was there two years ago. Parking lot is o.j., but the trail to the point would be a little dicey with a stroller
There's not a whole lot to do on flat ground there. If you're looking for a more flat place to go, consider the Lam Watah Nature Trail
I do not know but if you Google the images of photos taken from Emerald Bay, you will have some ideas. I was there last month, which was September. Not notice any difference of weather caused by the elevation. The weather was very pleasant.. .
The Tahoe Gal does tours of emerald bay, and other parts of the lake as well.
Yes. There are designated campgrounds around the park, although it is a bit difficult trying to see the signs and get the info.
Not in or around the bay. Few close miles away.
Yes, but this is not a great fishing spot. Lots of people, boats etc. Might want to trek a bit on the Rubricon Trail to get to a better fishing spot.... less congestion
Yes. If you walk down to the shore theres a area that is sectioned off where you can swim. Thers also a waterfall on the side of the road that you can play and cool off in thats right before the parking lot to Vikinghelm.
You can visit there any time. Provided you can walk the trail.
Per the park web site, "Dogs are not allowed on any trails or roads into Emerald Bay, nor on the beach." There are some other trails in that area like Eagle Lake trail where dogs can be on the trail but must be on a leash.
I would recommend parking at visitor center in the town and then hike upto Emrald bay.. the view materialises as you climb up
Yes, absolutely. The parking lot will be packed and prepare for traffic jam. You will probably need to park on the side of the street where it is safe to do so.
