This is the slowest group of individuals I have ever seen in a State operated facility. They take more breaks than you could possibly imagine in one work day! Every day is the same no less than 1 and a half hour waits with people standing around and various windows unattended a disgrace to the system in my opinion.

This place has the rudest people ever! Hung up 4 times. Asking for generic information to provide my husband when he got up as he works nights and they are closed when he gets up as we live cross country. Woman gave out NPPI and then refused to give the info on what needed to be done to fix a birth certificate. Asked several times just for the generic info. Refused to get a sup, rude, and gave out info she had no right to give out but then can't answer a basic question. Thank God for Charleston County who was able to tell us the steps. No reason this office couldn't AND they gave wrong information to boot. No way this should be called a customer service line!

Nothing fast or efficient about this place. Came here for a newborn birth certificate, 3 hours later we are still waiting. 2 broads working the counter and 2 are gone to lunch. The black lady drafting our certificate just handed us someone’s driver’s license, we had to take it back to her, like how do you just give us someone else’s ID. This entire process stinks. One lady came out yelling for anyone spending cash she’d do it in the back but, who carries cash?Avoid this place, search for an online option.

Are you all serving walk-ins?
No you can just walk in..
You dont change your name on your birth certificate when you get married.
License, application, and $12 for first copy $3 for additional copies.
A delayed certificate is a certificate filed for a birth that was not recorded within the first year of birth.
You will need $12, a completed application and a photo ID.
No, they have Birth/Death Certificates, and Marriage Licenses.
Just an ID or License will be enough to get your birth certificate.
If she lived in columbia sc. Check the obituary's listings.
I applied for a copy of my Birth cert 4 weeks ago by mail, how long do you reckon it takes before i should follow up?
You would have to get if from Georgia I believe
Yes
You can't get an out of state birth certificate in South Carolina. You have to contact the state you were born in.
Social Security changes it legally then she has to literally change it everywhere else... DMV, the utility companies, your mortgage company, all your bills, bank accounts etc... They will want proof of the name change. Some ask for a copy of the social security letter /card and some will ask for the filed marriage license (with the stamp on it). The IRS is the only one that will just check the social security number on their own.
Yes, the Vital Recods office is open. Masks & distancing required. There may be a little wait time, but they do an excellent job of managing the flow & dealing with requests.
As of July 27th, you have to call to make an appointment to to do anything. You can also go to their website and apply for a birth certificate.
I would call Vital Statistics and as them. I don't work in that area of the agency.
Go online and pay the $12 to get a copy birth certificate, because the wait time as a walk-in is about an hour and you still pay $12 for the search.
Yes....should be able to
