Good Shepherd is a blessedly welcoming and safe place, especially during this time of Covid-19.

Father Lyon. The rich church history. The acts of devotion and the the rituals and ritualistic way this church worships. It suits my needs perfectly.

This church is grounded in the word of God , period- Not biased with questionable interpretations by individuals. We worship God together as a common voice and in great reverence. The Solemn Mass transforms us into one body in communion with God, seeking forgiveness and salvation. Holy. Mercy. Gratitude.

Questions & Answers

What is "Low Mass"?

Low Mass is said (spoken) rather than chanted. It lacks the incense, Sanctus bells and music of a Solemn High Mass.

What does Anglo-Catholic mean? I was raised in the Catholic church so I find this a little confusing.

Anglo-Catholic parishes are also sometimes referred to as high-church Episcopalian. Our Mass looks and feels like a Roman Catholic Mass. Our beliefs are nearly identical to Roman Catholic beliefs, except we consider the pope the Bishop of Rome, first among equals. The Church of the Good Shepherd traces its beginnings to the Oxford Movement, which sought to counter the secularization of the Anglican Church, focus on Christian service and recall the Church to its heritage of apostolic order and the Catholic doctrines of the early Church fathers. We are committed to upholding and propagating the historic faith and order of the Catholic Church as set forth in the Anglican tradition and in unity with the Anglican Communion.
