We've been enjoying Captain D's for decades, but regrettably that's changed. The lunch special is up to $6.99; no longer a great value. Quality is down, and the food is often not served hot. Cold, overcooked vegetables and luke warm fries are the norm. Country Style fish is mushy. Orders are no longer fresh cooked. I realize restaurants are facing challenges, however it's come to a point where it's difficult to accept the big price increases and decreased meal quality.

I've recently moved from NY to VA and ever since I've been visiting this location, not only have I gotten the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE but even more INCREDIBLE FOOD!!!! This is the best place for authentic seafood for low prices. MY FAVORITE DIVE!!!!

We went here during our trip to downtown this place mad our Stomach hurt.I spent over 50 dollars on food that looked good when we where searching for seafood.The workers where agrasive and did not give me the food that I ordered and mixed them up while I told them I wanted french fries only they told me an apityser even when I told them I wasn't hungry.So if you want to go to this restaurant for a family dinner I'm telling you to not eat here and if this is the only sea food restaurant you should go home or order Chick-fil-A or something.I honestly don't know how they got a good review I dont know about this restaurant in other areas.And a nother suspicious thing was how fast they made the food it was like under 2 minutes and the food was green in the inside this is my point of view with my family.

Shout out to the staff at Captain D's North Chesterfield! At my parents request we had Valentine's lunch here. From the beginning to the end of our experience the staff was friendly and helpful. Our meals were served hot and quickly. We had the catfish feast and lobster roll dinner splitting two meals between the three of us. Serving size was plentiful. Staff came by the table twice to see if we needed anything and that we were happy with our meals. The story doesn't end here. My mother lost her hearing aid at some point during our day so I retraced our steps looking for it. When I went in and asked if it had been found, the staff moved the table and booth seats where we sat, helped me look around the bathroom floor and even offered to search the parking lot with me. Unfortunately we didn't find the hearing aid, but my heart is filled with gratitude at the kindness of the employees. Thank you!! We will be returning for another meal soon.
