Fantastic zoo experience! I honestly loved going out to the Fresno Zoo. This was the first time going in about 15 years and it did not disappoint, one thing that stood out overall was that they seemed to have been building a new exhibit called Asia Gardens. During the construction the treat it as it's own "exhibit" as if the vehicles and whatnot are all apart of the zoo itself. Their Zoorastic Park attraction is a must-go if you have any kids or are an adult who loves dinosaurs.

It’s a great little zoo! The improvements they are making are wonderful. They updated the dinosaur part which is awesome now! The little water play area was neat but I’m sure gets over crowded when busy. Overall a fun place to spend a few hours and the food is good too.

We love this zoo! The exhibits/enclosures have been updated and are well kept.
The food in the African exhibit is really good - we love to go there sometimes, just for lunch.
Masks were only required inside the Reptile House - December 2021.
My family is excited for the new Asian exhibit opening. It looks amazing!

Loved the zoo but getting in was kinda ridiculous. We bought a membership and there was only about 3 families in front of us yet it took almost an hour. When we got to the window it took us about 3 minutes to activate our membership. Not sure what took the rest of the first groups so long.
The zoo itself was quite nice, while a little small. The exhibits were well placed with a lot of areas to view the animals. Would have been 4 stars if we didn't have such a bad experience just getting in.
If you have a disabled placard you get in the park free... I'm not sure about Veterans and for srniors admission to the zoo is 7.95...its a great deal and lots of fun.
The park is Roeding Park where the zoo is located. Storyland has a trainride and different playground areas based on storybook characters. Playland has rides and concessions and is only open weekends
Yes they do! They have wagons and wheelchairs available
Shouldn't it be called family park? All my years in Fresno and the only dogs I've ever seen at this park belong to homeless people. Honestly I Dont think there is one sign that says Dog park

The "Dog Park" is actually a section of Roeding Park dedicated to man's best friends where they are fenced in and free to socialize and play with each other without infringing on the space of non-dog lovers. It also serves to exercise dogs. Social dogs are happy dogs and this park has separate areas for large and small dogs. I think it becomes a part of many dog lovers routines. It is definitely not overcrowded which is nice. People like it too. Although a part of Roeding Park, it is not the entire park.
It depends on what you like really. There are a lot of animals there but they are still adding some like Crocodiles and Komodo Dragons and more like that.
why was my 14 yr old granddaughter and her friends (some were 15) turned away saying she needed an adult...they were being charged adult prices and no where did it say they had to have an adult!

I can't answer that question but I will add that management there needs to read these comments and improve in so many areas. They are not taking advantage of being the only zoo within over 100 mile radius
Less there was a few that had signs on the cages because of the cold weather. But overall I went last week and there was a lot to see and the dinosaurs are awesome till November10th
We have the family pass, for year for 60 dollars. You can any time you want for a year. Well worth the price. Not sure what the price is at the front gate.
It is very fun strategy would be to start toward the back, towards the African safari to see the animals and then time other with the sea lions shows the 1st @11am then go to the Sting Ray petting area. Then to Dino dig and to the bird show and then the rest of the park and enjoy.
Do they allow pets in strollers or leashes? We are traveling

I have seen small dogs being carried before but you can call them and ask them to be sure. Side note, they do allow you to bring your own cooler amd or bag with food and drinks (non alcoholic)
Hope this helps!
"Wilderness Falls is right next to Dino Dig, as well as a patio area with a nursing nook for mothers. Admission to Wilderness Falls is included in the Zoo ticket price." -ABC 30
As all these people have said, No the Fresno Zoo does not have a Gorilla enclosure. It does have an orangutan enclosure with a currently nursing offspring. While it's cool to see, the animals all look depressed. Sorry to say. All with the exception of the sloth bear who seems content. And the Giraffes finally got a little more room. The zoo also got Rino's. Even my Nine year old noticed how sad some of the animals look.
Possibly. I don't see anything on the website for a senior discount but I don't see a military discount on the site either, and we got a military discount at the park entrance. I'd try calling in the morning to ask. It was a nice zoo, especially being able to eat by the Rhino.
Zoo lights are tonight. Then starting this coming Friday night thru Dec 23 everyday during that time zoo lights from 5 to 8pm. Day after Christmas then we will do it again for the week same time until I believe the 29 or 30th of Dec.
There are different prices, generally they are above $ 12 per adult, regular admission; But they also offer packages so you can enjoy different animal shows, including the new dinosaur tourist attraction at a higher price, so it all depends on what you prefer.
I just finished my application to become a volunteer and made my account so do I have to now wait for an email back or do I have to go to the zoo to confirm?

Maybe give it a few days maybe a week and if you have not heard back then call? Or just call now.
I'm not sure about backpacks. Masks were required in some areas. Two adults would be about 30 dollars, plus 10 for parking one car. Bring extra for drinks, etc.
I believe parking was 10 dollars. Some cash is good, but I didn't spend much. There are some areas that cost extra, like a dinosaur exhibit with "automated dinosaurs," and there is no senior discount, but it was worth the approximately 15 dollars for admission, without going into the extra charge areas.
Yea. All the animals that pass away there at the zoo are fed to the Lions . and since alot of animals die on a daily basis they have them frozen so they wont havr to buy the lions food... Nah im jk. They feed them cow meat.
If you come from afar I don't know but if you live here it is convenient to buy the pass for the whole year because they charge 21.99 dollars more or less per adult and per child 11.99 dollars I will pay as $ 46.00 to enter the food I do not know I did not eat I only bought snow and it costs $ 3.50 per person but since I bought the pass they discounted me for me it was very good and the pass costs $ 89.00
I want to say parking is about $5, adults are about $13 and kids are about $10. Cheaper than most zoos I've been to! Grandparents can also get a season pass that allows them to bring all of their grandchildren! Great deal there!
They had them last time I was there around New Year's... Did they close then down? They were doing the renovation while we were there and that area was unaffected.
They have a really nice restaurant that selves anything from pizza to chicken strips to cheeseburgers to yummy salads and that restaurant looks over the new African safari area and they serve alcohol there.

Yes, it is open on Sundays, unless it's a major holiday. Yes, it is open during the rain. Maybe some attractions might be close due to the rain.

Fresno Chaffee Zoo Members: $280
Non-Members: $305
Price includes up to 20 guests (adults and/or children).
Additional guests are $15 each. Go to this website to book and see available dates. There are also ad-ons you can do.
https://www.fresnochaffeezoo.org/birthday-parties/
The striped skunk at the zoo is part of the program animal department and is housed out of public view. His name is Charlie and he is used in offsite educational programs, birthday parties and special events.
The zoo had 2 male sloth bears, but they have been transferred to other zoos while they prep and build the new "Asia" exhibit. There are currently 2(M/F) sloths in "Tropical Treasures"; an indoor part of the South American walkthrough exhibit. The new exhibits being built will expand Tiger, orangutans and(when they come back) sloth bears!
They will make you leave at the time they close. So if they let you in they will make you leave shortly after you get in, but they typically wont let you in.
It seems like the handicap spots get taken too quickly. From what I remember, there was extra handicap parking spots on the park side, either way there's plenty of walking to do while inside the zoo itself
Yes on credit cards. And I agree that the family membership is the way to go. Although, if you're only going once and plan on many family members going, look into group rates. You must reserve two weeks in advance for a group rate, but it could be worth it depending on your situation
What about people with disabilities? On Soc Sec. Have handicap sticker. Are they full adult price?

It is worth visiting 13 per person but if several children are going to go, the annual pass will be convenient since children and grandchildren enter regardless of how many are any minor who lives or not in your house
Look for coupons too! Its worth the cost if you bring your own snacks and make it a few hour trip, which is pretty easy! 👍 Pack a lunch and make a day of it. With the new water exhibit you can make it an all day event easily!!
No low-income price reductions. Everyone has to pay the same price unless you have a membership. You can find out everything you need to know on the zoo's website
I'm not too sure but I think you can check on line it's way better if you're a member you get in free to the zoo as many times as you want a year. And the money you spend on the membership goes to a great cause.
Yes because the animals don't care about the rain. It's really if you get cold easily. We went there about 2 weeks ago and it was freezing but we still had fun
No they don't but if you buy the membership you get to go whenever you want. My family goes 2 times a month and with a 2 year old she loves all the animals
It's different for adults, seniors or children. If you're going often then season pass is the way to go. Like others have said, check and buy online before you go.
$5 entry fee for Roeding park includes parking. Zoo admission would be $33.85 for the 3 of you. Annual memberships start around $60, so if you're likely to go again within 12 months it's a slightly better deal, and you get discounts in shops and for food.
The lines always move fast so I beleive either way is fine. If there is an event going on you might want to do it online. I really recommend you get the annual pass. It is great for the family and you just basically walk right in with no delay. It also saves you money in the long run.
