Truthfully, I’ve stayed at better quality for less. For $600 for only two nights, I would have expected my room to have at LEAST Air Conditioning…. Our bathroom had no fan so it made the room temperature worse. I originally booked a king room and was giving two queens with A.) the worlds worst view of a river with a big building right in front of my window… and B.) was given no compensation or anything about the inconvenience because they over booked the hotel. When I reserved the room a month+ in advance. the only reason I’m giving it the starts is just for the convenience of location in the city. I was pretty disappointed with the experience of the hotel. Also: it was pretty self explanatory with the tiny plaque they had in the elevator.. but no one told us when we checked in that you have to swipe your room key to even operate the elevator. Struggling at 2am to operate a elevator. A drunken stranger kindly saw us struggling and informed us.

My boyfriend and I stayed here to attend an event at Devos and it was nice to be able to walk inside to get there and not need to bring jackets or drive/park. The Lumber Baron Bar on the first floor is one of our GR favorites, even though this was our first time staying in the hotel we come often for the great drink menu and atmosphere. The front desk staff was kind and welcoming and got us checked in right away. We parked in the parking structure, which turns out was free and that was a nice surprise. It was disappointing that our shower was not clean, (there was a bunch of hair on the walls!?) otherwise the room was fine. The bed was very comfy and we were given the option for a room on a higher floor which had a partial view of the river. If we had stayed more than one night, not having a fridge would have been a bummer, but we were just there for the event and didn't want to drive after so that wasn't a big deal this time. I would stay again for the convenience for sure.

My room was as expected, clean and comfortable. However, the purpose of leaving this review is to shout out the absolutely amazing front desk staff. My service at check in was great, but Gil and Melissa went above and beyond for me. I needed assistance at almost midnight with printing documents and they did not hesitate to help me with my odd request. Was much appreciated!!! Thanks guys :)

I am giving this a 5 star review based solely on the customer service I received from Cameron. Cameron was a very helpful and kind employee that helped me with the few issues that I had during my stay. Yes the rooms were nice, very up to date, clean and accommodating, but that is what you would expect from a higher end hotel. The nice staff was also very pleasant and welcoming, but Cameron went out of his way to ensure my disputes were resolved and handled them quickly and efficiently.

Hotel cost $229.00 a night then breakfast runs $7.00 to $16.50 not including coffee per person!
The Amway is also connected by walkways to a lot of different buildings....kind of like St.Paul...if you've ever been....we went to a concert at Van Andel and were able to walk to and from the concert never going outside....so double check that The Cheney Place isn't connected....good luck!!!
Yes
We valet parked, it was only $3.00 more than self parking. Well worth it.
Cygnus is closed right now it's getting remodeled
You need a major credit card. Also, need a card for incidentals, accidents or damage to the property.
20 monroe doesn't connect to the skyway. Take the skyway to the courtyard marriott and you can cross the street to get there.
If you are standing in the lobby facing the registration desk, historical side is to your right. You have open access to the first and second floors. Visit the ballroom. Take the elevator to the guest room areas. The hallways are interesting.
If you want valet parking yes. But there is a self park right across the street from the hotel with a skyway to it.
Yes. $29. If you're staying at the hotel they'll give you their own parking ticket and you can enter and exit the parking structure as many times as you want, you just pay for the day
Right in the front circle drive
There is a parking ramp just across Pearl Street from the Amway.
The website states that service animals are allowed, but that's it.
Mid January 50-75% off!!
Yes it does.
Not specific to the hotel, but there are both buses and taxis available.
