I got my wonderful kitty here last October. She changed my life and I am so grateful for the staff who helped me make my way to her and eventually being her into my home as part of my family. She is the sweetest cat, and was clearly very well taken care of here. They were super helpful with the adoption process!

Best shelter in the area! I really appreciate that their animals are all open to the public, which highly increases the animal’s chances of getting adopted, compared to an appointment-only shelter. The staff here are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions. I’ve adopted 4 cats from here (one sadly passed away from diabetes complications, three of them are still with me), and they have all been amazing. The staff and volunteers make sure that you’re well prepared to take your new pet home, and explain all documents thoroughly. I recently adopted two kittens here (was only planning on adopting one, but fell in love with another while I was picking up my first one after her spay) and they have quickly become great buddies! My two year old cat is slowly but surely liking them. Teryn was especially helpful and kind to me during my recent adoption :) The volunteers here are also very passionate and sweet. Thanks SafeHaven for everything you do!!

This place was NICE ! The staff were more than accommodating. The facility was clean and VERY sanitary . The animals are well cared for and you can tell. We got to take out these two absolutely adorable puppies to play with . An individual I support through my work really enjoyed herself and always does. You should definitely come check this place out ! C'mon !!

I got my sweet boy here at the age of 2 in 2019 and he’s 5 now he was super shy, and scared, but i could tell he had a lot of love to give. I was told he had broken the bridge of his nose before i got him and he had all his vaccinations! I also got him during the peak of covid so taking him to get a checkup after adoption was hard. I figured out after a year he had stomatitis which was a bacterial infection in his mouth. It developed over time and wasn’t noticed till it got very severe. It was becoming very life threatening so he ended up getting all his teeth taken out to get rid of the infection and bacteria that was shutting his system down. Regardless of all that i am so happy i got him we are inseparable. Only advice i would give is after adopting any pet get insurance, do research on nutrition (a lot of brands lie to you) and get them a full check up as soon as possible. Shelters can only do so much they already have enough on there plate.

At safe haven..
No not at all.
From my experience , I bought a puppy from safe haven, a week later there was a serious problem with the puppy she would fall in and out of consciousness with no coordination and was trying to make contact with safe haven with no response we ended up having to take the puppy 25/30 Miles away for help...
How can I get help get my cat neutered
They have a food bank offered 2x a month, maybe more. Call and ask them to get dates and times. Not sure what else they can help with.
👍
Just check the website and I do believe that they are in need of good, dedicated volunteers. I hope that helps.
Yes. We just adopted a dog from them a few weeks ago.
The minimum age to adopt on your own is 18. If you're younger than that you need someone 18 or older to go with you
SafeHaven Humane Society Seniors + Seniors program offers half-priced adoption fees to adults over the age of 60 who adopt a cat or dog over the age of 5.
I'm pretty sure they do....but call and ask......you have to do that anyway
You'll need to check with SafeHeaven about that. This is a public question/answer network.
I use to visit all the time before I knew what dog I wanted to adopt. The store I believe opens at noon
Yes
No they don't but you can go to Petsmart in Albany on Sunday afternoon they have vaccinated clinic available for a reasonable price. Call the store for more info.
Yep, call them
A voucher??? Not really sure if you can take animals to get fixed... But ALL animals come from here ,, fixed... You should try a regular veterinarian.... Several good one are around your area.
You will need to call if you want to place a hold on an animal. There is usually a fee to do this.
Could I get a picture of your pitbulls if you have any left?
I believe so
Yes
They in the past would give out vouchers to help pay for fixing cats. I think we got ours fixed for like $20 each.
I would just take it somewhere and let it go free. They are harmless. Just my opinion
nicole at petco is a good option too!
That means that a down payment has been put on a pet. Normally its so they can check to see if the pet is allowed at their rental or to acquire enough funds to pay off. Another reason would be to "sleep on it".
I would call them up and ask them or go down and talk to them in person. The people that work there are friendly and helpful.
I am not sure if a list, but I know Linn Veterinary Hospital does.
also Willamette humane society and a seat neuter clinic in eugene.
They assess and their is a small fee to help cover cost of care and rehoming.
Call the intake number. You need an appointment for that.
You can stop by during business hours and ask to see the dog in a larger room or in an enclosure outdoors. In both cases a staff person will accompany you and answer any questions you may have.
Have you called them? I would only be guessing but my guess would be yes. We did 3 classes with their trainer and were very very impressd.
Adoption fees vary between each animal. As for senior discounts this was on their website SafeHaven Humane Society Seniors + Seniors program offers half-priced adoption fees to adults over the age of 60 who adopt a cat or dog over the age of 5.
They have a website with thatvinfi, or, you could call them.
I'm sorry, i have no idea.
They do. You can contact them to apply. All volunteers attend a training session as well. There is a separate process if you're under the age of 18.
I don't think they actually take in pets to have them fixed, but you can pick up low cost vet vouchers from the main desk. It has been a while, but I think the voucher was $20.
