The park was beautiful, clean bathrooms and well cared for campsites. My wish is that people be respectful of others. We had neighbors whose dogs barked every time one walked by, the dogs even visited our campsite a few times, and then the owners were constantly yelling at the dogs. And they had crying babies and many visitors. Not the get away weekend we hoped for, but the rest of the park was a great getaway from our neighbors.

Had so much fun out here! We just pulled off on the side of the road and found a cute section for the dogs to run free ❤️🙏

Wide variety of parks, trails (hike and bike), and waterways to kayak. Favorite hiking is Zilmer (wide, not overgrown in summer). Kayak around Mauthe Lake and the MKE river. Parnell tower for the views. Ice Age Trail Center is also a must see.

According to the fall foliage map at https://smokymountains.com/fall-foliage-map/ we should reach peak colors in Southern Wisconsin on October 12, so maybe the preceding weekend.
Drive with sticker and reservation. When we were there, Sunday was the day there were Rangers checking.
Not this year. You have to order online and write down the information they give you on a piece of paper until your sticker is mailed to you. I dont believe maps are available at this time. There are rangers who drive through parks, but not at the offices.
Some, they are labeled as such.
Kettle Moraine is a wisconsin state forest, which includes a handful of state parks such as Pike Lake, Mauthy Lake, and Long Lake. Pamphlets for state parks are available for free at park entrance stations. You'd be better off looking in a bookstore or library for national parks.
A bug is a certain type of insect. Some examples of bugs you might be familiar with are the boxelder bug, stink bug, and emerald ash borer. We tend to use the word bug loosely for any small creature with legs, however a true bug is defined as belonging to the order Hemiptera.
We enjoy going to Heofts resort in the summer, great campsites with water and optional electric, showers and restrooms. Beach with a bar and restaurant, food stand, arcade bball court, trails, fishing. Friendly locals.
I suggest calling the ranger for specific questions to be answered. There may be facilities to offer, but the season/weather dictate if available.
Only if you go to the designated areas, like the horse parking area etc... if you are just hiking and park along the road, in most areas, no fee.
I'm not to sure, I'm thinking if they have great bike trails then they should also have great hiking trails. .. Goodluck an be safe.
There is tent camping in Long Lake and Mauthe Lake State parks. Tent w/o electric is $18. You can find prices and reservations at WI dnr website.
Hwy G is open so you can get to Mauthe. Hwy SS is closed at Hwy GGG. If you go through Dundee to G and head South you should reach your destination.
Stop at the Ice Age Center near Dundee and the Visitor Service Staff will help you out.
At the long lake park office they are.
