Ideal location for camping by the lake. Check before booking if you will be able to take your vehicle to the actual site or not. Some of the site location you might have to use boat to go if you don’t wanna walk thru the forest. Don’t worry if you don’t have boat as canopy is available on rent just for $20. Also firewood is available on the camp site which is little costlier. Also camp manager is available on the site always and very helpful. Don’t miss the sunrise. Enjoy

Love Forked Lake. Campsites are secluded and private. Its peaceful and therapeutic. You get the illusion of wilderness camping without being too far from the boat launch. Go every year after labor day when the crowds have dispersed for the season.

If you ever liked the movie “moonrise kingdom” you pro will Enjoy! Canoe to your own campsite! Book in advance and score one of the islands. We were there on opening weekend of the season and all campgrounds were super clean, bathrooms …

Had a great experience, our group reserved campsites 63 and 64 which was all the way at the end. It had a great opening view of the lake. Accessible by both walking and boat, but the walk is almost like 1.5 to 2 miles almost an hour or 2 depending on how fast you walk. So, boat is faster, should take you around 20-25 minutes to get there from the main office. Also don't forget to bring mosquito repellent, since there are lots of them swarming around. But if you start the fire on the grill/fireplace provided, then it should/will help you repell the mosquitoes until you stop the fire. But over all 10/10. I highly recommend it. Also the staffs are pretty chill and helpful.

Depends. 50, 51 and 52 are the little island and they are good if you're tryna stay as far away from other people 🤣. But the ones my group booked was 63 and 64 which had good view and flat ground for the tents. The ones closest to the parkings have easy accessibility.
