This place is dog Disneyland. Choose the left and go down a majestic path with wide, tall steps that lead straight down to the beach. Or choose the right and take a winding tour down a path of running dogs and kids on a field trip, eventually landing on a quieter side of the beach. Yes, this beach is cold as other SF beaches, but it’s less windy, less overcast, wider/deeper, and just happy with all the dogs prancing around. Best beach in SF.

Such a great place to walk your dog! There are a lot of trails that you can walk your dog off leash with gorgeous views everywhere. It is quite sandy so when the wind is strong, you get pelted with a lot of sand.

Great place for off leash walks with your puppy! The beach is clean, dogs are friendly, and there are so many different places to walk. Bring a towel to get sand off your pooch before putting them in the car, and don’t plan on using the Porto-potty 🤢.

Great getaway close to San Francisco... Dogs are free to play on the beach with no leash. Scary for my wife and little kids, but I enjoyed it very much! Highly recommended...

They drive the dogs nuts for sure and there is little room like this elsewhere in the city so you know I would suggest holly park, twin peaks, mussel rock cliff in pacifica...for something like that...mussel rock cliffs have great area in the parking lot where you can walk a path while flying is safely....might be better...just wherever you go be safe...
Lake chabot in the san leandro east bay hills has camping , hookups for trailers aswell as public restrooms and showers about 30-40 min drive from fort funston
Yes, however sometimes spots can be hard to find, though there are two lots: one at the bottom of a hill (right of the highway) and one of the highway a little more.
No picnic tables. Bring a blanket and you can pickup on the sand dunes or cliffside
Hit or miss
There are some paved roads but not many. If you park close to the lookout point you would at least be able to go up to the viewpoint and look at the ocean. But you'll not be able to go very far onto the cliffs
Nope.. Atleast not near the viewing deck. The area is popular for hang gliders, so it makes sense
Yes it is open as of July 2nd.
If your stroller has large wheels, you might be able to use those paved paths but they are often in a very bad shape..
I've also seen people casting from the shore but I don't know what they're fishing for. Ocean Beach can be pretty choppy.
Yes you can camp there. There is only a limited number of spots so you want to look for a 48-hour reservation time. You also can have a fire on the beach. Great spot just did it a few days ago. Enjoy have fun. It is a state park.
Park at the street level and walk in
Ita not open, but people stil go. Please park by lake merced and cross the street to that entrance. Everyone seems to think its okay to park on the bike lane along skyline blvd, its not! Super danergous to dogs and cyclists alike!!
The park was most likely closed due to the government shutdown.
