First I want to start on a positve note, the staff at TPC Harding Park is wonderful, from the individuals in the pro shop, to the starter, to the group at the restaurant. It is probably their approach that made this a two star review as opposed to one. I am accustom to playing some great public golf courses (Bethpage and Torry Pines), I have also played a fair share of TPC courses so I had very high expectations when coming to TPC Harding Park. I was quite disappointed. Starting with the golf course, the bunkers were unplayable, to the point where my group just decided to call all the bunkers ground under repair at take a drop. They had rocks and grass growing in them and were hard as cement. Next the fairways, it is okay for fairways to be baked out (especially in June), but these were not baked, they were patchey and inconsistent. With the rough as challenging as it is here at Harding finding the fairway should be a reward, not a crapshoot. For the cost of the round (compared to counter parts at Bethpage and Torrey) this is a can skip golf course.

Not sure i agree with the reviews describing the staff. They have always been super nice and helpful. The course is hard. Greens have curves and fairways are super narrow. Pace of play is what i expect for a popular public course in a big city that hosts professional golf. The bunkers are a joke. I think joke might give them actually TOO much credit. Rounds have been ruined by bunkers. There is about 1 inch of sand and then concrete underneath. And thats a description of the green side bunkers, you don even wan to experience fairway bunkers. 9th and 18th hole are legit though.

Public golf course famous because US Open. Packed to the hilt, suggested to walk as carts are cart path only. Easy flat course to walk. The fairways were covered with fresh grass clippings, so no roll and the greens were average. But given the amount of use, decent place to golf. Probably would play Presidio or Lincoln for views or Half Moon Bay for better course and greens.

Everything good to play golf, excellent shape of fairway and challenging rough. I had great experience for the PGA course.

Yes, you can reserve the clubhouse for dinner gatherings and the course for company golf but i wouldnt call it a party as you cant get crazy loud and overly drunk (although drinks are served).

Yes, I did and think walking is the best way to experience that course.
From what I heard when I was there you do. I booked mines like a month in advance but I'm sure you can go online now and find a time you like.
The practice area opens tomorrow (Feb 19th) to those with a tee time. You may arrive up to 60 mins before your tee time to use the driving range.
You can buy them online or at TPC Harding Park
