Nice hiking. Beautiful forest. The steps down to the reservoir are fine on the way down but be ready on the way back up. Well worth it in my opinion..

Very neat place for a quick hike
Donavan Arnold
Beautiful place to spend some time in nature, enjoying the waterfall sounds and walking on the newly constructed paths and boardwalk. Clean, well maintained and an awesome site to see - highly recommend a visit!

Not too interesting.. good long walk to view a water hole..

It's open now. 6/2019
Yes it's open now. 6/2019
Depends on your tolerance for ticks, snakes and potential discovery.
Its safe. He will have good time.
132 steps in the new boardwalk. Not nearly as deep as the previous structure.
Have no idea. Repairs are lasting a lot longer than expected
Trails are open
This place is still closed due to the storm. It is being repaired. Don't know how long it will take to be completed.
The ranger on Sat said it will be a couple months.
Stairs are back but bridge that allows you to walk all the way around the sinkhole is under construction
The steps and boardwalk descending into the sinkhole were open when we went on May the 9th 2021.
No
The path around the sinkhole is open but the bridge that completes the loop is closed, so you have to double back. You can look down in the sinkhole, but the stairs down are closed.
It's not really. There are some places that you can access to see the sink hole. There is a dirt pathway to access those areas. You can also access the educational area to watch a video and read about the sink hole. There is a picnic area just off the parking lot as well.
$4 to get into the park - pay by envelope - and the stairs/boardwalk into the sinkhole is closed as is the bridge on the circular nature trail.
Better to call and then go
Jacqueline is right, it is $4 per car with up to 8 passengers. It is $2 for pedestrians, byciclists, and for excess passengers. It is an honor system, with all of the funds going to the support of the park.
Or they are preparing for one
Yes 9am-5pm only.
I am not sure. But most of the things are closed on Thanksgiving. You call on the contact number they have online and check.
Fees $4 per vehicle, up to 8 visitors. Pedestrians and bikes are $2.
2 picnic tables under cover. At least 6 in the center of the parking lot that could handle a large group, but in the open. The tables are not close together.
Yes
It's got a bit of water in it right now. Never been able to scuba. It's not that type of place.
$4. There is no park ranger up at the front and it is on an honor system.
According to article in today's Sun, it's fully reopened and all repairs completed. So yes you should be able to visit the entire park, including the sinkhole
The boardwalk reopened today, June 5th, 2019. It is a small park and the main attraction is the board walk. The sink hole is really beautiful. I think it is worth the trip. I plan to go back 4th of July. If you are looking for long trails to hike, I would head to Payne's Prairie State Park afterwards. It's about 20 mins or so away from Devil's Millhopper.
I was disappointed when visiting, Noone gives you the complete info. You have to discover it for yourself, after a long trip and paying the entrance fee. :(
According to the State of Florida Parks site, still closed for changes.
To a point. You can go around the sinkhole, but its rough terrain. To there sinkhole itself you need to use stairs.
It was still partly closed as of mid March. Open part way.
The truck and trailer should be fine. If it were a smaller RV, such as a mini winnie, it would be fine but for a full size RV I would suggest you park in the shopping center parking lot at the end of the block and walk.
You can use a stroller on the path around the sinkhole (though it's a loose dirt path, so might be hard to push a stroller on it). If you wanted to go down into the sinkhole you can't use a stroller as it's completely steps up and down. 😁
Park is open but I don't know if you can enter the sinkhole. That section was still closed about a month ago.
You can't really see anything from the top. I think the stairs isn't open yet. All you can do is walk around the trail like you would in any other park.
There is no other way down. There was no signage saying when it would be done
I read Summer of 2019 but that can always change.
Last I heard it should open in 2019. The anticipation will soon be over
Hi. So are the stairs open to go down in?
The forest ranger I spoke to in April said at least until the fall. It's up to the Federal Army Corp of Engineers.
Landshark .... duh
Hi Nancy, You may have Devil's Millhopper confused with Devil's Den.
I asked in March. They said surveyors had recently been out there and they were waiting on construction i asked and project was already funded.

Was there last weekend and paid to enter the park to find out that it was still not accessible. We basically paid just to walked a big circle and left. There was about a dozen other people there that also voiced there disappointments after driving from some distance as we did. The park should not have charge a fee knowing that the main attraction was still closed.
As of 1/21/18 one of the on-duty rangers said the expected repair time would be 2-3 months, but that repairs were still in a planning stage and thus those numbers are liable to change.
There's some trails and exhibits that are accessible, but to see yhe sink you have to ho down some steep stairs.
No .. but you can enjoy a great work out up and down the stairs that takes you down into the sinkhole. There are beautiful little waterfalls and it's really cool if you can catch it while it's foggy.
