Want to come visit but we will be driving 2 + hours so is it open and can u swim in the hole?? Don’t wanna waste a drive.

Hi Nancy, You may have Devil's Millhopper confused with Devil's Den.

The sink hole is closed. The stairs leading down to the sink hole is blocked off at the top. Don't waste your time.

Unfortunately you cannot swim in the hole. The trail around the top is wooded and the stairs are killer. I personally wouldn't drive 2+ hours for this alone. Luckily Gainesville has some other really great trails and springs not far away.
