It brings you back about 150 0r 200 year ago. Is an unique experience, specially if you Christian or Catholic. I highly recommended.

Interesting visit, reconstruction of a Spanish mission. I especially remember the sympathy of the people working at the reception and the gift shop.

Really interesting place, completely reconstructed. Beautiful grounds and 1700 spanish chapel. Buildings are cool inside and grounds have lots of shade. Many restrooms throughout. Large shaded picnic area. Pet friendly.

Beautiful property with hiking trails. You get a real sense of how life must of been. Buildings have many rooms to explore with of furnishings and artifacts. Blacksmith shop. Water fountain and livestock. Allow 2 hours more for hiking trails.

At keast two hours. There is a daily tour at 1pm.
It is open to walk the grounds, but the visitor center and interior are closed
Yes. Dogs must all be on leash. There is a track that runs around the hay fields behind the Mission village facility where many people exercise and exercise their dogs.
Hi , I know they have a specific picnic area but you should call and confirm if formal parties require a reservation. I'd hate to see you get bumped for someone else.
This mission is one of the most restored. A good picture of what life was like - day to day
Yes, it is open Tuesday through Sunday. Monday is the only day where you have to check their schedule. On many Mondays, the visitor center is closed. It is open 9:00-5:00. The visitor center closes at 4:00..
A battle between the native American Indians and the Mexican government soldiers was fought at the mission, resulting in many dead.
Haunted? No. Strong historical presence yes. Any answer beyond that would be a matter of opinion.
Dogs on leash ok. I run and hike there all the time, no issues with bugs beside what is normal for the outdoors.
I don't think mass is celebrated on this mission.
No
Morning religion study, followed by all sorts of labor work (soap making, metal, animal feeding, food preparing, baking), eat, pray, and rest.
Yes it should be
Purisima translates to Virgin So together, it means Holy Virgin
The earlier the better. They close at 4 p.m.
I would go to the mission and ask at their office if there is employment opportunities.
In essence, we all do. It is up to each and every one of us, to make sure that we take care of these landmarks for future generations. If these landmarks were to ever go by the wayside a lot of our history will go along with it.
In this sense la purisima means "immaculate" in reference to the immaculate (without original sin) conception of the Blessed Vigin Mary. In Catholic theology the Immaculate Conception is dogma, or in other words, a tenet of their belief philosophy.
From Wikipedia ... Mission La Purisima Concepción, or La Purisima Mission (originally La Misión de La Purísima Concepción de la Santísima Virgen María, or The Mission of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary) is a Spanish mission in Lompoc, California. It was established on December 8, 1787 (the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, hence the mission's name)
I don't know if it's open . Check website.
La Purisima Concepcion was the 11th Mission built along the Camino Real. It followed the establishment of the 9th Mission San Buenaventura and the 10th Mission Santa Barbara, heading north towards Mission San Antonio (the 3rd mission). Each Mission established was purposely placed to reduce times, attempting to obtain only a day's travel between missions along the Camino Real.
Donde esta? Where is La Purisima Mission? It is located near/a little east of Lompoc, CA. Its address is: 2295 Purisima Rd, Lompoc CA 93436 which can be found in a Google Maps search.
