The Southwick's zoological park is getting better every year, adding new educational experiences, updating, improving, and expanding naturalistic enclosures. Every exhibit is accessible, however there are many steep and long inclines making wheelchair use difficult/strenuous at times. Good and varied food offerings in the park.

Best zoo in New England. The animal variety is surprising! My favorites today were the Deer Forest where you can walk among and feed deer, the young Emus, the Rhinoceros, the Lions and Bengal Tigers, so many monkey species, and even more birds. The animal enclosures made viewing easy, and the animals are clearly well cared-for. The animal care-takers were great ambassadors and truly went the extra mile answering questions for elementary school-aged kids.

This place is absolutely fantastic. I’ve visited a few times and took some amazing pictures of the wildlife that is there. It is clear that the staff really do care for the animals and provide clean and big enclosures for their animals to exhibit their natural behaviors. Of course, no zoo will ever be able to replicate the wild entirely but they are doing their best and it clearly shows. There’s plenty of activities for kids to do and plenty of fun for adults as well. There are food stops around the zoo to grab a quick snack as well as gift shops and I especially like the skyfari ride that lets you see the whole zoo from a Birdseye view. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

We went for the Christmas lights what a fantastic time we had. It was worth the carload ticket price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to go next year. What a beautiful display of lights. You actually drive through the zoo and look at all the lights.

Straight from the site: Active service people receive free general admission, veterans receive half priced general admission, and the dependents of active service people receive half priced general admission. Military ID or other proof of service required for discount. *Discount cannot be applied to pre-purchased admission (tickets purchased online, from libraries, etc.) and cannot be combined with other discounts, coupons, or offers.
Yes there is and you can bring in your own food!
Small pumpkin save $1, medium $2, large save $3
So if I understand this the last week of Saturday kids get in for free if they wear a custom.
They do not but if you're a member of earth Ltd, you get some benefits. Generally speaking though, there are no benefits. There's General admission, a package where you can do a few extra things, a 2 day pass, and then another one that has more days in it
We've been to both and they are strongly different experiences. SWZ is larger with more animals and area; so more walking with some hills. Great things for kids as well though most rides require minimum heights (42" is the tallest requirement). FPZ has more indoor exhibits - specifically the Tropical Forest building. There is Al's a brand new children's area which is wonderful. So I would answer "both"!
Yes the zoo is very clean. The animals also look very well taken care of and happy.
Yes they are 8 for a single 10 for a double
Not all. I think there is a grace of 20mins or so. Depending on their mood
Good question, I'm not exactly sure how they are enforcing the times. We had tickets for 11 AM yesterday and we got there at 10:30 AM and we were not asked about time we were scheduled to go in. They let us just go in when we arrived. So, I'm assuming that they are not enforcing the scheduled times.
28 usd per adult and 24 usd for children but they applying discount for the member of AAA.
I don't know. But it is a wonderful place.
Yes there are. They’re so cute!!!!!
Kindly check their FB page. They keep posting updates.
Active Military is free. And 1/2 off for he/she dependents.
I bought mine at door line was not bad and my family had so much fun
Yes they are. They open at 10 and close at 4. $30 without rides $40 with train and sky ride. If you order on line you get $5 off
Yes they do, the only issue is they only have a handful of them. If you plan on using one you need to reserve it a couple of weeks ahead of time.
This is a tough question as if you have very small kids that want to walk entire Zoo and also depends on if you will eat and rides and time spent looking at each animal the shows so I can tell you to walk entire exhibit is roughly 7000 steps
$25: online $30 : at zoo door Kids Under 3 years are free Also, 1 person Free through a library, but you should book it through your library at least one day before.
No, both my husband and I are disabled no discount. The paths were easy for us to get thru with our rollator walkers.
Yes you do, there on the website and depends if u pick a time and date or an any day of the season tix but it's all on the website for you the pricing.
It is included.. Not sure if it will be open
As far as I've been going there, there was not any 🐘 elephants at all, I've been going there for years too. They have a Rhino conservation project there, and plenty of other animals there to see. Hope that helps you.
Yes
Spring
I believe they closed Nov 2. They open back up for holiday stuff at the end of the month.
They have indoor accommodations.
You need to buy tickets online and reserve a slot for park entry. Sufficient precautions are taken by the park administration to maintain social distancing and hygiene. Few rides/attractions are closed though due to COVID-19.
Technically your not supposed to bring outside food in. We went recently and did bring small snacks for our kids. Yes you can feed the animals with the feed supplied by the zoo. Bring lots of quarters to use the feed machines!
Either one will do.
Adults $25 and kids 12 and under $20 I know that for a fact I was just there a week ago thats for the walk around! It was AWESOME!! WELL WORTH IT!! If you go have fun!!
You can rent a handi-cart like the ones in supermarkets. You have to call and reserve it well ahead of time (a week ahead I think). One bit of warning though not all the paths are paved so depending on recent weather the cart can get stuck and some of the hills are steep enough where the cart may not go up them.
I'm not sure. The price for admission is so low anyway, but you could certainly ask. The staff are very friendly and helpful!
There are no age limits! You could bring your baby to enjoy the animals, which I have done in the past. However, there are hight regulations for some of the rides and such. Hope you have a great time if you decide to go!
They didn't check out bags and we brought our own snacks in our backpacks
$28 for just the zoo or $36 for the zoo and rides that have through out the zoo. You can go right on there website to get them.
Into the zoo? Yes. Ticket prices vary depending on the year, but they can be found online at https://southwickszoo.com/visitor-info/tickets/
Ok good to know why I loved the zoo very nice place and nice to spend with the family
No
Varies, depending on what you want to include. Prices range from $36.00 down to $14.00 for Military.
They have a boa and various other snakes in the reptile exhibit, I don't recall an anaconda though.
No
Also hard in the fallow deer area. Dirt paths
It isn't listed on their discounts page. https://southwickszoo.com/visitor-info/discounts/
Yes, the zoo is open on the fourth and rides are available.

$ 28 adult $ 24 children (3-12)
Call and ask
I saw no information on this topic at the zoo. I would call.
They opened April 6th
28 adults 24 children
April 6th through October 31
You can feed the deer, goats, and sometimes the parakeets. Those are the only ones you can pay to feed.
No they do not
They will give a rain check.
Also depending what state you live in in september they have state weekends where you can buy one admission get one free. I believe they have a Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts weekend.
No. But Jingles is. She and Joe were at the zoo at the same time for awhile.
There are also Vicuña; one of the few zoos that have them. Really cool, and the softer than alpaca!
No, however they do have coupons available online
Yes. Separate price than zoo. Each ride is tickets (I believe), and sky ride, train, zipline, pony rides and maze are flat fee, think $7ea. But you can get zoo & ride wristband and it includes sky ride and maybe train as well as the few liddie rides.
The brox zoo is huge were southwick is much smaller as far as for kids southwick would be better for kids since its much smaller also southwick has drit paths
So sorry but we bought the special one day pass for our visit. I can tell you that the woman that waited on us looked for every single discount she could.
Franklin park zoo and stone zoo provide EBT discounts
Sorry, no elephants.
Kids under the age of 3 are free. Kids between 3-12 are $24. Adults are $28. Seniors are $22. And if you have AAA is, I believe it was $2 or $3 off adult tickets.
The prices for their food isn't terrible but they let you bring your own as well.
Yes there are picnic tables there. You can bring in your own food. The tables are near the entrance.
Yes you may bring your own food and drink. No alcohol beverages. You cannot cook anywhere on the premises.
No charge for parking, but keep in mind you may end up parking in the dirt or grass nearby. The paved area of the parking lot is limited.
Groupon try first have great deals to alot of places
Look on their website. But right now there is a $3 off coupon if you search for it. Kids 2 and under are free
AAA discounts are available. Maybe a group discount? But not otherwise.
No animals allowed, except for certain service dogs and you have to register your service dog to visit the zoo with you for the day.
There are scooters available for use but on the website it says to call to reserve
Tons of seating, some areas go 1/10 mile without one. Walkways are gravel, so depends on the walker. They do have walkwrs available that have tires from what ive seen.
Only if it is a service dog. Clearly the open wildlife approach wouldn't work well. (Roaming exotic birds and monkeys.)
There is over 5 discounts available based on programs mentioned already, or group rates for educational purposes, or you can get a discounted rate if you call prior to your visit and ask for the manager in admissions.
Earth members get a year of special prices $244, 2 adults 3 children than can add $15 every other child.
Please contact the zoo authorities or the zoo office / ticketing window for this information.
They are opening on April 7th, till October 31st. They say soft opening April 7th to 13th
Online ticket purchases are good for the 2018 season. They will be open mid- April 2018. Once you purchase and print your ticket, it can be redeemed at any time 10 am - 5pm daily during the operating season.
There's a children's play area with rides for them. There's a merry go around, swinging boat and other such rides. Its for kids. If the child is a little one, a parent can accompany on select rides. There's a zip line ride on which adults can go. Its fun. Train ride and an overhead ropeway for the entire family. The ropeway ride gives you an aerial view of the entire zoo.
Thanks
yes
No not at all...you are certaimly allowed to bring your own.
Yes, for Connecticut and Rhode Island residents. It's an annual thing
Nothing about that on the website, but there are BOGO ticket days and other special rate events.
