Yes the zoo is very clean. The animals also look very well taken care of and happy.
Yes. Very clean zoo. All the animals look very comfortable in their enclosures and definitely have more space than nearby zoos that I've seen. I honestly think this zoo is better than the one in Washington DC

The owners take great pride in maintaining a very clean zoo. All of the folks involved in animal care always put the animal's welfare first. The habitats are well designed and maintained.
Its also my favorite zoo. It feels like a hike around the exhibits and they have just about everything. They have a skyride, a zipline, tons of small kids rides. Most importantly, the animals look and feel relaxed. No pacing back and forth. It also has a giraffe experience which eas amazing. Love that place!

Every time my daughter and I visit another state, we always check out the zoo's. So far, Southwick's Zoo is my 2nd favorite zoo. This place is super clean and friendly. The animals look very well taken care of with plenty of shelter and shade for the hot days. The staff love telling you what they know. We stayed in the fallow deer exhibit for at least half an hour just talking with one of the staff members. My daughter is also in their junior zookeeper program.

Very clean. I actually spoke with the zoo veterinarian just recently and from that discussion I could tell they very much care about the animals. Some are from other zoos that had issues and they took them in. For example a couple of the cavies held their heads to the side and when I spoke with the zoo vet, Peter he explained they came from another zoo with permanent parasite damage. I felt very reassured from talking with him. If you were to question anything while there, please ask to speak with him and I'm sure he will be happy to answered any questions you may have. Exhibits and grounds were very clean and I can't wait to go again.
