A fantastic aquarium and easily walkable from our hotel. We came here in the afternoon after doing a Duck Tour in the morning. We have been several times and my husband and I agree that the penguin exhibit at the entrance is the most memorable aquarium entrance we both remember. It is worth walking the four floors up and then following the huge tank down the ramp in the middle of the museum. We also enjoyed the sea lion area outdoors.

A super cool aquarium! The layout of the building is very fun with the giant spiral center. I love the amount of penguins and sea lions and seals that you can see way up close! The touch tank is a little underwhelming, but it's a nice place to chill by. Also, the sea dragons there are the coolest! I've never seen them anywhere else before.

We went on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy but, decent room to move around. The concept of the enormous single tank with a wrap around spiral is pretty cool. As you walk up each level has additional tanks and exhibits around. Nice to see a giant octopus on exhibit, definitely my favorite. Some cool infographics around, geared more towards conservation rather than just stats. Nice to see the creatures with large areas of space to live. The penguins have a lot of space and the open air exhibit is unique at least in the aquariums I've visited. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area and enjoy sea life.

This place is fantastic, my niece and nephew loved it. They loved seeing the penguins and how they interact with each other. The sea lions were very cool to look at. The central tank is amazing with many different types of fish and large turtles, it is like a mini reef. I also liked seeing the bioluminescent jellyfish and fish. The fish and other animals were very easy to spot within the exhibit. The information next to the exhibit was good to read. I hope this place continues to flourish for many years to come.

There is a big parking building next to it and two fairly large lots. Not worth checking the building if your time is limited. If the lots are packed, it is also good to go to the awesome restaurants nearby and parking there.
Box turtles and other chelonians don’t have external ears. They have a layer of skin located on each side of their head well behind the eyes, which forms a tympanic membrane. The membrane protects the middle ear. They have an auditory nerve, as well as inner ear structures that hear low-frequency sounds in the 50 to 1,500 Hz range. This is a very limited hearing range and it’s speculated that the ear may be used mostly for balance. In fact, many of the low-frequency sounds they’re able to “hear” also cause ground and water vibrations, which they know how to interpret. Still, they respond to mating calls and emit a few other sounds.
Yes there is a very large Anaconda in one of the rainforest tanks. The tank is small so im not sure how it fits in there. I was there last weekend and my friend pointed it out. They also have a turtle, seals, sea lions, seahorses, jellyfish, starfish, sea anemone, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and many other non fish creatures... Bethann your answer is far from accurate.
Nothing huge but yes hammerheads are cool, but if you want to see the big ones you have to go out in the harbor by the seals, I don't recommend that though. 🦈
Um wel all depends $$$ when i when there i to the bus from new York city 42 st and 8 ave the driver toke 4..hours end 30 minutes in the morning end $$$ was Les than from n y to Boston i take the bus mega 🚌 bus all depends on you and weather good luck
We parked at the Post Office Square Parking Garage because it was a short walk away but the cheapest hourly parking rate we could find close to the aquarium.
Every day gets louded on the highways around 9:45 and does not slow up until after 5pm coming in ok going to any events or attractions not that busy at all just the major highways
They do have lockers which are pretty cheep. You can put anything you want. No wont have to carry anything or be afraid of losing something. Enjoy your day there. Wont be disappointed.
There is a cafe inside. But you can go out, with a hand stamp and come back in. There are many resurants just outside, and many more eateries at Fanuil Hall, a short walk away.
Hello John. Yes.
Active-duty U.S. military personnel and their dependents receive a discount on Aquarium admission. Adults receive $10 off admission, and children receive $5 off. This discount does not apply to nondependant guests coming with military personnel.

noun
1.
an object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.
It's one off the coolest aquariums in the world and highly recognizable not onlyfor is building, but its accomplishments and displays.
Several of the tanks have a mix of predators and prey. They can't 100% prevent all negative interactions, but they do make sure to keep all the animals well-fed, and well-fed predators aren't going to bother unnecessarily expending energy to hunt while they're not hungry. They track the feeding of certain aninals, like the eels in the big tank, to ensure those aninals are eating normally.
Not sure on a specific student discount but we got a pass from our town library that let up to 4 in at a special rate of $10 each. Children under 3 are free.
Yes, BUT the spiralling ramp around the main attraction tank is not built to ADA requirements as far as steepness angle, so some wheelchair users, especially manual, may have some difficulties. For this though, wheelchair users may visit the aquarium for no fee.

If you are a family head with snap or with wic it is a different price ... I recommend that you call the aquarium
Are you questioning about a museum or New England Aquarium? The New England Aquarium depending on showtimes could vary on how long you spend there. The main tank the divers feed and there are specific times for that as well as there's a sea lion show that you may want to see. Depending on the times of each of them could hold you up but walking around the aquarium looking at all the different exhibits I would estimate it to take approximately an hour and a half. I would say I'm generally they're two and a half hours total most of the times that I go... also depends on how busy it is and if you have to wait to get up close to each exhibit how many people may be in front of you. If you haven't already visited the New England Aquarium it's a terrific place to go and one bit of advice I'd like to add is that most libraries in most towns offer a pass that will get in I believe up to four adults at only $10 per person.. admission is approx $30 per person. Check out your local library! 😃
According to their website, where you could have found this information; 31 for an adult 22 for a child; 29 for a senior. All other experiences are extra. Tickets.neaq.org is where you would find this information after googling it. Hope this helps!
Theres a parking garage but be prepared to pay $40 to park if u go on the website u should be able to c the discounts for AAA card there and other discounts
If not, you could coordinate with the aquarium to start one. Explorers are a "Youth led" program so it's up to you and some friends to get it started. Start with getting in touch with the New England Aquarium and the Boy Scouts of Americas.
We are also on EBT and have 2 kids that would literally die of excitement to come for a visit. Any chance or anyone knowing if they will accept due to being named The New England aquarium?

Technically yes. Its physical location is Boston, Massachusetts. Massachusetts and the surrounding states are a regional area known as New England (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island).
You should call them and tell them the situation. They should be able to give you tickets for another date. if they cannot accommodate date change request, then unfortunately these will be wasted.
I doubt they would let you bring in a cooler there is a cafe there if you want something to drink, and they will stamp your hand so you can get back in if you want to leave
How much is the combo of aquarium and see the Whales

Is there any deals now with ebt does anyone know?
Tiffany Arsenault | Dec 15, 2018
Todd Gustafson | Dec 16, 2018
Yes, i believe so. But you can also get $10 tickets from your local library with a library card. You pick the vouchers up at the library and pay at the aquarium.
I want to day to New England aquarium whale watch and I lost my phone how we can get it that is lost and found ?
We parked at the Post Office Square Parking Garage because it was a short walk away but the cheapest hourly parking rate we could find close to the aquarium. Don't remember the price we paid, sorry.
You would be roaming around the aquarium very often. Just walk around and you would know of it is something you want to see... Boston has a lot of historic places, so if you are crunched for time and have seen aquariums, you could skip it
Is this the one that has has the package deal with whale watching by Quincy market? How much is this?
Bobbiejo Bouley | Dec 15, 2018
Meena Cs | Dec 16, 2018
The aquarium itself has the pa ckage deal. Not sure about by Quincy market (may be). in winter i dont think you have whale watching. you can call them to confirm.
This question has been asked several times, and in a majority of the other threads the top answer is yes. I think you can get a reduced price on up to 4 tickets when you show a MA EBT card and a photo ID.
From their FAQ section:
"The Aquarium offers complimentary manual wheelchairs on a first-come, first-served basis as there are a limited number available. You may pick up a wheelchair at the Aquarium’s Information Desk. All that is required is a valid photo ID that you leave with us. When the wheelchair is returned, you will receive your photo ID back. Find out more about wheelchair access here."
"The New England Aquarium offers up to four admission tickets at a rate of $2 per person with an EBT card. Tickets are normally $27.95 for adults and $18.95 for children." It is true as far as I know.
There are small sharks in the ray touch tank and the science of sharks exhibit. The Giant Ocean Tank is currently being treated. The bigger sharks who usually inhabit it are sensitive to the treatment, so they have temporarily been relocated.
Call the aquarium first. They can tell you what garages you can park to have your ticket validated for free. If you park in the garage closest to the aquarium it is very expensive and they are not supposed to validate your ticket but they can which drops it to $28.

How far is new England aquarium from northeastern university
SAGC Administration Department | Dec 15, 2018
Caleb Wastler | Dec 16, 2018
Probably too far to walk. Around 2 miles. But you can take the Orange line from Ruggles to State street then walk about 3 blocks or transfer to the blue line at State and take it one stop over to Aquarium.
I did not. There are some discounts available online, as well the Aquarium is part of the Boston CityPASS program that gives you access to four different attractions for 56$, which ends up being about a 45-50% discount if wanted to visit all those places.
When I went on 26/8/2017 the prices for Adults was $27.95 and the price for children was $18.95. The IMAX theater prices are around $30 and $22, as I recall
