They keep this place relatively clean....staff was attentive and Melanie in particular was super friendly.

Years ago, I used to donate to this shelter, but sadly, I've never had a good experience when visiting. The staff is typically terse, bordering on rude. From what I've seen and read, I would never adopt from this shelter. Try Good Karma Pet Rescue instead. We got our sweet rescue doggy from them, and the process couldn't have been easier!

I would give 0 stars if I could. Most of the staff was extremely nice and helpful, besides this one elderly blonde lady with a ponytail and bangs. We were interested in adopting a dog that we knew we would be able to take care of and provide a loving home to, and this woman was rude undermining our experience and judging us just because we are in our twenties, which is apparently too young to adopt a dog according to her. Little does she know we have grown up with dogs all our lives and have had our own as well, I also used to be a veterinary assistant which provided me with more experience regarding their behavior, health problems, and taking care of them in general. This rude lady was basically saying anything and everything to make us not adopt the dog based off of assumptions she had made about us. I think that is insanely unprofessional and I would not recommend going here judging off of the experience I just had. We were so excited and she ruined our mood, you would think by working at an animal shelter, you’d want people to adopt the dogs and give them a loving home. This was not the case

This place is disgusting, completely inhumane it makes me sick. Everyone involved should be ashamed for taking advantage of animal advocates and lovers alike. Suzanne may be one of the most unfortunate people I’ve crossed paths with. Wouldn’t touch this rescue with a 10 ft pole….

Me and my husband would love to have him!. We recently lost our 13 y o Beamer. We are both 67 and retired and live in Delray Beach in 2 bd Condo w a terrace.I had two Russian Blue when a child in Russia , absolutely loved them.
I am sure Tri-County would take the Kitty. They are an absolutely wonderful facility with wonderful people.
I have a beautiful dog named Tortalini she is sweet and loving medium size potty trained and she loves people if you want we can meet
I would love to have the miniature poodle you posted 11 months ago. Pray the poodle found a loving home.
Yes Tri county will check to see whos it is by the chip by they ear and if its not they will fix up the cat and give it to a nice family who needs a cat that has enough money to buy it
No, they have rooms filled with donations and some of the employees take them or throw them out.... Donate it to the salvation army or good will, or any other organizations that support veterans.... Because they dont, learned that the hard way working for them.
HI I JUST WANT U TO KNOW THAT THEY CAN TAKE UR CAT BUT U WILL HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO BRING IT TO THEM OK WITHOUT GETTING SCARED OR ELSE JUST CALLED THE TRI-COUNTY TO COME BY UR HOUSE TO REMOVE THE ANINAL FROM THE HOUSE FIX IT UP AND EVERYTHING AND PUT IT UP FOR ADOPTION INTO A BETTER HOME OK UR WELCOME OH AND U WILL HAVE TO CHECK WHEN THERE OPEN SOMETIMES OK THATS ALL FOR NOW IF U NEED ANY MORE HELP I WILL ANSWER UR QUESTIONS/ I BROUGHT A DOG FOR THE TRI COUNTY AND I LOVE HER/// HOLD UP WAIT DONT CARRY IT BACK IT MIGHT BE ACTING LIKE THAT BECAUSE ITS A BABY STILL IT STILL NEEDS TRAINIG OK AND LOTS OF ATTENTION AND FOOD CAUSE THATS WHAT HAPPEND WITH MY PET DOG OF BEFORE U DO ANYTHING JUST PLAY WITH THEM OK AND LOOK UP ONLINE WHAT TO DO WITH A BABY CAT OR GO BY PETSUPER MARKET OR WHATS CLOSER TO U
Yes, they will accept them. They are open from 8 am to 5 pm Thur thru Sun & Tuesday. They are closed Monday & Wednesday. There's no staff after hours so it would be hard for the donation to get dropped off.
Tri County in Boca, Peggy Adams in Palm Beach and Florida Humane in Pompano are all places that *might* be able to accept her and eventually place her in a permanent home.
Yes
yes its an adopion center and a rescure center to shelter the animals
Not sure, but there are alot of young people that walk the dogs. You may want to call and inquire.
I was there yesterday donating some items, and I saw several lab puppies right inside the front door. You might try calling because they are always rescuing dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
Yes you can my wife and I cremated are dog there just a few weeks ago.
Not sure but around 25 to get or adopt one ok your welcome
No we don't have any grays only blacks and tabbys
All my dogs came from Tri County. My dogs are all small and they all are healthy. They will definitely help find you a new sweet puppy or a more matured dog!
Average record retention laws are between 3 and 5yrs. But I would call if I were you since we had computers in 2011. If they used computers then they may still have the records.
Don’t give to anyone online that you do not know it’s never safe . I advise you ask any potential adopter for their vet’s info then call them up for vet references. If you don’t ask for a rehoming fee at least get check all interested people.
No. You have to ask staff member ir front desk first. If interested in a pet, there is a process you have to go through.
Yes! Just drop off in the front
Call ahead first
No. Anyone can try to adopt any animal, but if your lifestyle, age, medical status has issues... adopting a young puppy is not advisable. Puppies don't stay small forever & they have lots of energy. The same can't be said for seniors. Will that 70 year old lady still be able to walk her puppy after 5 or 10 years when the dog is fully grown? If not,, then what happens?
Yes
I have a chihuahua mix that I cant keep would love to find a.good home for him.
Never heard they pick up lost animal. Give them a call
I am sure they will take her in. They are a very nice animal shelter. If not, maybe you can call Peggy Adam's animal shelter.
Tri County is a very nice shelter and I am sure they will gladly take your dog.
Yes. 100% no kill.
I am not sure, but they have a new Lois Pope Clinic right next door to the Shelter. Why not give them a call. Good luck with your puppy.
Yes. Always
I think they could definitely use the help.
I will ask my friend Kevin who already has many chickens if he would like to have another. Tri county does not Take in chickens.
Please Call Tri County Humane..!!!!! By Phone. Check if possible adption.
I know that just completed a Lois Pope Veterinarian Clinic, but I don't know much about it.
Ok, sorry ...what development did this occur?
They do microchip their animals for adoption. Not sure about non-rescue pets. Call and call again if they don't answer the first time. The staff is very nice.
What is her breed and weight?
Call Tri-County in a system that's all I can say
Where are the cats now??
That's terrible that just because you're so "busy" you're willing to discard your dog that is way. Maybe your dog is better off at Tri County Shelter than being in a home where they are not wanted.
During the week the age is 18 and up and weekends when there is more supervision I believe its 16 n up
I am not sure, but if you call them they can probably help you.
You could either bring him to The Adoption Center in Fort Lauderdale or here. Broward County Adoption Center would be the best choice.
We have one that had a leg amputated doesn't slow it down a bit real sweetie
The website has all the dogs
They have the best selection in the tri county area. Go check or look online.
Around $350 and up. Dog comes with microchip, vaccines, etc.Usually, one year vet visit free is included.
Yes
Call them. And thank you for thinking about it!
Yes they take anything that have to do with animals
Contact Tri-County Animal Hospital Boca Rio Road they will help you
Cats naturally follow the smell of their litter box so if you leave the litter box outside it should learn to potty only outside.
Call to verify
Yes get allergy -c from pet store pet cat once a week with a wash cloth and she won't be allergic to the cat they make one for dogs and one for cats hence the-c its worked for me and many many clients of mine dont get rid of PET
Maybe tricounty staff can recommend a charity org that helps pay for vet services or a local vet who will work w/you in paying installments. I understand tricounty might be understaffed & underpaid but pls be more compassionate and suggest solutions to help dogs in need. Also try gofundme, IG or Facebook to raise money for the vet care. Will be praying for your baby.
Yes please bring them in
Yes call and ask they may ask you to show pictures and they will want them utd on vaccines before they consider taking them in . Space is usually full but if it’s a dog they think can easily be adopted then your Chances are good. Tri county tries to be fair but it’s really a space issue and big older dogs are harder to push off into adoption.
Also call Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control
Yes
How old is your ball python and are you the original/only owner?
Call to FLORIDA HUMANE SOCIETY AND ASK.
They will take the unopened bag but the used one gets thrown away .
I am sure they can. They are beyond awesome and. wonderful. They are 100% animal advocates and they do amazing things. They will guide you through what ever is needed to save this dog. You are a kind and caring person.
you may have to call them directly to ask they may not answer on here
you need to be 18. And currently the cat room may still be closed. The cat room allows 14 hr olds to volunteer, but the parent needs to come in with child and sign liability waiver.
You are able to donate items that work toward credit hours. Look on their website for items.
yes it's non profit. i hate the front office staff but the kennel staff is awesome and those volunteers are amazing they play with the dogs and cats they give them attention without the amazing volunteers they have those dogs would be in a cage or run all day long. i worked there for a short time and instantly saw the amazing work those volunteers do and the kennel employees work so hard all day keeping all dogs and cats fed and their area clean
Yes there is, But don't waste your time going there. Staff is very rude, and don't care about the well being of the animals they have. Even 5recomended to me to take a healthy cat I found, to a killing facility
Tri county doesn’t sell dogs they adopt them to homes and it’s a process to see if you even are eligible to adopt . Then you select a pet you are interested in but they will ask you a lot of questions and if you aren’t going to keep the dog you adopt they won’t allow you adopt even a pet rock from them.
