Went here with my best friend and it was AWESOME!!!!! My favorite part of my trip to the zoo was feeding the giraffes. Those gentle giants are so awesome. I advise you to wear tennis shoes & bring water bottles. I seen a variety of beautiful animals and created some wonderful memories. I guarantee you no matter what age you are, you will have a blast here. O yea if you get tired they have a safari train you can ride. Prices are very affordable and the place is easy to find. Well enjoy yourself!

I was blown away by this zoo. I've lived in VA all my life and didn't know it existed. My almost 3 yr old daughter had a blast. There were so many animals to see and it never felt overly crowded even though it was packed. The animals were all out where you could see them. Feeding the giraffes was really neat. Highly recommended adventure for any family!

A wonderful place to get your steps and enjoy with your family. Not disappointed at all, it was a hot day but we still were able to see all the animals. Fun to feed the animals especially the giraffes and goats, baby hippos were just cute. We got the unlimited Ride bands and we used it mostly on the carousel and sky lift, the train got in an accident or something when we were about to ride so that was a disappointment for my son. The food and drinks are great. All animals looks happy and well taken care of by the friendly staff.

Fun for families but starting to show its age. Feeding animals (giraffes esp) was a highlight. Mediocre food options and the “rides” are limited which is ok since it’s a zoo but it would benefit from an update to facilities and amenities. However, bringing the young ones will be a highlight of their week.

Yes. On our last visit there were two on display. They are located at the far end of the Chimpanzee exhibit. They are not the easiest to see and it is possible to miss them if you aren't looking for them.
Yes
Only service dogs.
The zoo would be able to answer that question. It's a great zoo though.
Adults are bout 20 to 30 dollars and I don't remember the children
Richmond ZOO is ONE THE BEST ZOO I'VE EVER BEEN TOO & I'm from Mass, Con., Jersey & Now here!!!
They do not have any elephants. They do have two pachyderms such as the white rhino and a pygmy hippo but no elephants. I love elephants but this is still a great zoo to visit lots of fun.
Even though it's a private zoo it is rather big, bigger than many AZA accredited zoos. They also have a train ride through a hoofstock area. Although I've been to over 💯 zoos or nature centers,I found many new animals at MRZ.
17.25 for adults, 16.25 for seniors, and 11.25 for children 11 and under. Prices on September 28.
Their membership cards have names and photos of the member on printed on them. If you were to purchase the memberships, they would have to go to the zoo membership office and have to get their cards.
Found the same. Called and found no need to purchase tickets in advance.
Yes you can go to the gift shop without purchasing a ticket, you just have to be very clear to the attendants that you're only there for the gift shop
Yes
I did not see one when I went there (2021) not sure there has ever been one.
I didn't see anything but I'm sure that they must have something available in order to be ADA compliant.
They do not have a water slide or a Rollercoaster.
17.74 a dollar cheaper
There are fruit bats here in the nocturnal exhibit. These are commonly known as flying foxes. No flying squirrels. They also have fennec foxes. 🦊🦇
No
Should be?? 🤔
Usually, reptiles live in small places in the wild. There is also several other animals in the zoo which also need a lot of care. It's like that at many zoos. If you want to know more, talk to one of the zookeepers there. They'll have a better answer.
The Treetop Zoofari or zipline is $55 per person & is a 2-3 hour trip. This fee is separate from the cost to get into the zoo.
They're marked on the park map. http://metrorichmondzoo.com/visit/zoo-map/
