This review is regarding Banfield and the OWP. The Optimal Wellness Plan is a complete scam. I have had a plan since 2014 and never in a million years would I have thought I would be fighting the battle I am fighting after losing my dog. In my attempt to cancel the plan the entire experience has been insensitive and disrespectful. I am still mourning the loss of my girl and in the midst of it all fighting to cancel the plan. Two weeks ago my sweet puppy passed from what appeared to be a variation of anemia. I initially took her in because I noticed she was not acting like herself. She was prescribed an antibiotic for stomach problems and sent home. After about 3 days I noticed she didn’t seem to be getting any better and I insisted she be seen again (I was told that was not necessary). I took her to another Banfield location at which time they ran her blood work and saw that her red blood cells were extremely low. I was told she could have a heart attack at anytime. She was rushed to an emergency vet (not banfield) and immediately put on oxygen. The only hope we had was to try a blood transfusion so of course we did. My sweet baby didn’t make it. If only banfield would have tested her blood during the initial visit maybe she would still be here today. I wanted to put all of this behind me and move on. So my plan was to call and simply cancel the wellness plan. Well I have been getting nothing but the run around and told although my account is current I must pay a balance for the remainder of the year. This is insensitive and just rude. Fighting this is causing me to re-live the situation over and over instead of simply moving on.

I always take my fur baby here. Although they were a little understaffed, and I had to wait 3 1/2 hours, they have always taken great care of my Riley and that's all that really matters at the end of the day. I am grateful for them always! Prices can be expensive without a wellness plan, or if you don't have care credit to use upfront.

The front desk team is awful! Unbelievably rude and aggressive, they will even resort to bullying their customers in order to shield themselves from any perceived criticism. The front desk completely ruined every experience (this makes the fourth) we have had at this Banfield, despite the fact that the doctors were lovely and took good care of my dog. The service is so bad that we are now driving an extra 40 minutes to go to a different one. STAY AWAY!

I was talked into one of their wellness plans, which may have been fine when my dog was a puppy but I've tried multiple times to call and cancel and have never been successful in getting a human on the phone to process the cancellation. They're now only accepting drop off appointments scheduled more than a month out. I don't have the time or money to make the 1.5 hour round trip twice a day for a drop off appointment that I don't really want to pay for anyway, just because I can't get them to cancel the wellness plan.

Walk ins are available if you are an existing client. Not sure about a payment plan. I think they have a credit card?
