I found a dog, stray, picked him up and brought him home. Called the shelter, the next day (2 weeks ago), made an appt to bring, him, in. I was going to drop him off but then they make you feel bad, for leaving him, so I'm a soft heart, I kept him. 1st they gave him shots and a tick treatment. The Woman who gave him shots was rude, when she did talk it was under her breath. I brought him home and my Dog (at home), caught a allergic reaction. I took him back to the shelter and over night I thought it over and went back to puck him up. The Big White Woman who works the front desk, when i mentioned the dog, she, already knew all my business. Very rude. When they brought the dog in, he peed, she went over and started pulling on his private, with her bare hands. Never washed her hands or used sanitizer. She touched everything including the papers, I signed. I am still having issues with my dog(already had). Once I brought the stray home my Dog got sick, again. I want to take, the stray back, but not sure if they will accept him or make me pay. The other receptionist, at the front desk was eating a open bag of chips and touching everything the other, dirty Woman touched. Very un happy people.

I've never been so shocked at someone's customer service to the point where I had to write a review. Stood at the front counter for two or three minutes while the lady sat there on her cell phone, earbuds in. She was incredibly rude when I asked if I would be able to meet one of the animals and talked down to me like I was a child. I came back inside to ask another question and the lady on her cell phone sent me off to the other woman who was busy on the phone, so I had to wait for her to finish her call while the other girl pretended to work. Nobody would even look me in the eye when they were talking to me. I have worked in customer service my whole life and I can sympathize with the frustration that comes from a job such as theirs, but if you're not happy where you're at, work somewhere else! Maybe they would have a much higher adoption rate if they didn't make the people who come inside feel like they're such a burden. What a terrible business. Used to volunteer here before the pandemic and it's disgusting to see what this place has become.

Really nice and genuinely caring staff members; they went out of their way to help us and even sent us home with goodies for the pup we adopted.

I have no one except my babies. Every one is gone now . I love them more than anything. An accident happened an I had to seek help , no money since covid, rent an everything up so high I'm almost homeless. I did what I had to to seek help for pepper "pepper pots". Ellie may is her foster mom . This ASPCA on mount Vernon stole my baby , I believe in an eye for an eye , they stole my baby and think they got away with it.

What color are the cats im missing a cream color orange tabby neutered with a kinked tale at the end another neighbor missing her cat a female calico
Regular adoption fee is $35 and includes a carrier. Contact them or follow them on Facebook for adoption specials.
50 bucks , and its micro chipped had all its shots & most of the time its spayed or neutered. .
Jill, I don't know, listen please tell her MARLEYS MUTTS RESCUE IS DOING LOW COST SPAY OR NEUTER. Please tell her to get her dogs fixed. Do you know last year there were 14 million dogs that had to die because people take animals to shelters and because people do not get their dogs spayed or neutered? These poor innocent dogs have little to no chance of getting out of shelters. It is extremely irresponsible to not get your animals fixed. MARLEYS IS DOING IT FOR ABOUT 20.00 I believe. As for a job tell her to apply at markets or places like Wal-Mart they are always hiring. My heart prayed for these puppies.
They have a drop off. Maybe some adult can do it for you.
I would post signs near your neighborhood and offer a small reward for his return...no questions asked. Also check the dog shelter or call the ASPCA.Good luck!!
What kind of dog
Maybe turn to Facebook and ask for info and/or donations to help? Dr. Reno in NE Bakersfield (Mtvernon Veterinary) is pretty affordable...maybe you can find out if any vets take payments? Emergency Vets are going to cost a fortune and they will suggest putting the animal down...I don't trust ANY of them in Bakersfield...MY OPINION?! I wish you the best and I'm so sorry your fur baby is hurting!
Aroun $60-$90 I think I really don't know
Yes but it's 25.00 I might be mistaken. And they let you take the pup home first to see if it will adjust. Then you can come back to decide. How awesome is that.
They have fliers of when they do those procidures and low cost clinic too
As long as you have service papers saying it's a service dog. But their are stores that allow dogs in their stores
I believe it's still $100 to surrender an animal that you do not want. But if it is a stray I don't believe there's any charge.
Call animal control ASAP. They will come assess the situation and take proper steps to make sure everyone is safe. It costs you nothing to make a call.
I'm literally in the same place rn only with 4 puppies, but yea I'm wondering the same
Post on Facebook animal groups.
No, they will not pick up. You will need to find someone to trap and get them fixed. You could try a cat rescue to see if they can help.
Nope
From what part of the city did they go missing from?
Bakersfield Animal Control serves the City of Bakersfield. HSWHS is not located in Bakersfield. You should contact the county for assistance.
They had places that help on food check with Animal Control
Free till the 17th😻😻
They have over 200 dogs. You have to go and look
No it was all white with a brown patch over his eye. He was reunited with the owner.
If they're not already spayed or neutered, Animal Control will not allow the pet to be adopted out before they perform the surgery. I went in to adopt a kitten and he wasn't yet neutered. He's getting surgery today and will be able to be picked up this Tuesday, 7-21-2020
Call the shelter and ask them.
I'm sorry I don't know
Was my dogs picked uo
Yes you can as long as you had the shot can't you get your license without the shot
At critters without litters it's $40. But if you bring it in a trap you can get it done for free if you are county.
Spca they are not feeding there dogs they look do starved they look bad someone needs to go out and fine them all the others looks nice well feed at mt veron
It would probably vary on the dog. Even if not, potty training is easily trained by the future owner
All puppies are born with worms you need to take it to the Bet.
I believe they only do the shots on Fridays . You must call them for the time. But only on fridays. But Critters without Litters are great too. But if your set on the Dog Pound, its only on Fridays and you must call them for the time. Good luck and don't forget to Spay and neuter your animals please.
You can let her know that 3 dogs per person is the legal limit in Bakersfield Metro/Kern County and if they find out she has more they can obligate her to apply for a license and be fined alot for every dog in her possession. If that helps
Yes call them they should take it.
And they all come spayed or neutered with a microchip, up to date on all their shots and a rabies license
I'm not sure. I adopted dogs and they were both already vaccinated and fixed
No, and they will make sure they are fixed before releasing them
PetSmart has heartworm testing you have to have a 12 month plan with them. So you can buy online with heartworm for your Critters.
Call directly to the place the time is cross because it can be parvo and the parvo is dangerous
I'm not sure of price with city. But Critters Without Litters charges 12.00 per shot rabies and same for the 3 in 1 Parvo. You can go to the city animal centers web page and search low cost vaccines and dates clinic will be held. Today's was cancelled.
I have a kitten i cant foster
Not free, but discounted. Every Friday am. Its listed on there website under Clinics.
Take her to the shelter any of them that way she can get some help.
I would call there always running specials
First of all this isn't the establishment its the Google community but if your referring to adopting yes they do charge if your referring to fostering than no they don't
No government agency is open today. No today this place is not open.
A primary call is standard to see if there is room and to see if your pet is a candidate to be re-homed. Lastly there is a $100.00 fee to help with the cost. Having a pet is like an additional family member. It should be life long , for better or worse. Please help cut down on unwanted pets by early spaying and neutering . It is very easy to research and find many programs to help with cost involved in these procedures. Reach out and take control to help others solve horrible abandoned unwanted animals roaming and starving in the streets that did nothing to create the problems they are forced to live in. Pass the word also about TNR , which stands for trap, nueter and release that actually helps cut down on cat spraying, fighting and multiplying. After strays are fixed they must he released to their original territory and sooner or later if each stray is caught , fixed and returned back .... cat over- population is accomplished. Pass the word have a nice day!
Yes
Occasionally They have clear the shelter events where it is free or 25 for a dog. You can go to their website or call to see when the next event is. Most dogs come spayed or neutered, first set of shots and microchipped. You must pay for license.
There is a fee, however, they have been holding special events with reduced fees. They are continuing to hold weekly free vaccination clinics. They will have you fill out an application, outlining what it takes to care for a pet.
Oct 21 at Heritage Park on Mt Vernon/Bernard they will be doing a Distemper/Parvo clinic that is free.It is from 2- 4pm.
20 surrender fee sounds like they were to cgeap to wanna pay it.
No
No as long as you have shot records
I believe you would have to go to your private vet to request that. The animal shelter doesn't do that kind of stuff.
Yes they do not sure on prices you need to call for low cost clinic days
It is 15 dollars for tags if your dog is fixed. If you live in City limits go to the city Shelter if you live in county go to county. Make an appointment with citters without litters to grt dog spayed or Nuetered and the shelter will go you a voulcher lowering the price a bunch.
This is the Google community they rarely answer the phone your best bet is to go their directly.
They require it and chipping
The shelter has quite a few full bred puppies/dogs. But the City, County, SPCA shelters and most rescues require the pups to be spayed/neutered before being adopted.
Typically there is a surrender fee depending on the age of the kitty call the kern county animal services 661 868-7100
Any rescue should take them, but try Critters without Litters.
Yes we do. We just started a new program with the best friends Corporation and we will be doing a 3-year project in Kern County catching cats neutering them and returning them to their colony. You can call and get all the information you need
Yes, they do.
Go to the animal shelter on Mt. Vernon it's the easiest way to find out if it's your pet
Yes there is and every dog is different, the longer you wait the more expensive it gets too
Clinic is every Friday from 10 to 12.
I think its still $20
You do not have to pay, but you do have to be in city limits if you live in county limits you have to take them to a different shelter
I'm unsure. I would go to the shelter or look online.
Ditto Lindale.
The Bakersfield animal shelter does not pick up cats. You must get your landlord to place traps for the cats. Contact the animal shelter for specific instructions.
a
A one year license for an unaltered dog is $60. An altered dog is $15 for one year. If you are planning to have your dog spayed or neutered you should do that prior to licensing to save some money.
Its not free Low cost but I would call critters without litters
You have to live in the city or the county thats how they determane which shelter the one on gibson is the SPCA their not a shelter go to the one on fruitvale but have a county address
We have a weekly clinic every Friday from 10 am until noon. But be advised it is check or cash only.
