Very nice family theme park. Not crowded, very short lines. Not sure why but loved it. Given it's 5th of July it's supposedly summer time. My son was a little lazy to take rides, we just end up strolling around. Weather is nice too, a little humid but a little cold breeze comes from time to time. Overall the park is really good for family and kids who loves rides.

Been going to Kennywood for over 40 years. Beautiful family park. Prices are in line with other amusement parks. Food is great and the park is well maintained. Enter through security at the front gate, through the tunnel and the family fun begins. The park staff and security team's priority is for your family to have great time and create those memories.

Our family travels about 1 1/2 hrs to come to Kennywood once a year because this truly is a great family park! It is so clean here, the staff are very nice, and the food is actually very delicious and full of flavor!! Potato Fries are the BOMB!! The games here are very kid friendly too! Our 4 yr old granddaughter actually won her own prize! Thanks Kennywood for being a family oriented park! You will always have our vote! ❤️

They have a great selection of rides for all ages. I really enjoyed the time the spent on making Thomas town a believable thing. The kids loved the show and the girl doing it was awesome.
My mother bought ours online. She is retired Air Force. It's 23.00 per ticket and you have to create an I.D. Me account through Kennywoods website when you go to purchase the military tickets. They will probably honor the discount in person too as long as you have a Military ID.
Yep the easiest way is drive past the park all the way to the front right corner they have a cooler entrance which is actually in the park by the pavilions. This makes unloading for a party or family function much easier then parking and carrying your stuff all the way to the main entrance. You can then pay and enter the park and head back and get your things.
A lot of time rides, games, and concessions depend on staffing availability. Later in the season more students are going back to school less man power.
I think lockers are like $7 now. If you arrive early to get a good parking space you could possibly leave the cooler in the car and go out to your car for lunch. There are a lot of company picnics at this time of year so the tables may all be reserved. If you definitely need a table, you may want to call about that. They have private Cabanas you can rent for the day.
Plenty. There is a place called 'kiddie land' for children 8 and under. There are many other rides, horror themed (Garfields Nightmare, Ghostwood Estate) and 'old school'(merry go round, the kangaroo, the turtle), etc. that will entertain all ages and those with more delicate constitutions.
I doubt they distinguish between sexual preference on their guest passes... However, I do not think they sell a "quick pass" or a line jump pass like other parks. They do sell season passes.
The news said it's up and running but the park didn't give an explanation of why it was down. All they said is that it's a new ride and things like that is bound to happen.
Yes, definitely. There's even a place you can drop off coolers so you don't have to lug them all the way from the parking lot, through the entrance, under the street and through the park to the picnic pavilions.
Yes! They stamp your hand and give you a stub for reentry. Only thing is, you will have to go back through the metal detectors, so leave your belt in the car! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes...the senior discount happens at 55. However get a disabled rider slip from guest relations. It will allow you to go to the front of the line and you can have a guest with you to enjoy the ride together. Enjoy!
They also did it to cut down on line times and employees needed I think. Anyone admitted to the park they know has paid to ride so they don't have to collect tickets or check wrist bands or similar.
I'm 56 and when I was young our family eould go there swimming. In the area where lost Kennywood is was a swimming pool. A huge probably 3-4 football fields with a hugh bathhouse and the tallest metal slide. I love riding down but getting up steep almost straight up and down steps scared me. Really miss thst but i guess thst msde way fir Sandcastle Water park i guess its 30 years old. Fun memories. Now train area is under construction with Thomas the train and who knows what whee log jammer was.
If you are referring to Bring a Buddy Days, you have to be a season pass holder and you can take 1 guest in the park for $15. You have to check the website for the most up to date dares because they always can add additional days.
It's 5999 for a fun day pass at Kennywood but it's not the same like it used to be they close at 7 p.m. and they also have a bunch of different options on purchasing ways to ride especially the roller coasters you can sit there and wait for an hour but if somebody has the coaster pass they get right in front of the line
It's first come first serve. Try to get to the park early as possible to rent at the desk. If they're all out, they will take your name and number to call you when one's available. Sometimes you can spend your whole day there without getting that call. My best advice is to seek out a mobility scooter rental place on line or just buy your own.
No they are not but the only thing is the park closes at 7:00 and it opens at 10:30 but most of the food booths won't open till 2:00 and in July they told me they were going to stay open till 8:00 p.m. which really sucks because there's nothing like Kennywood at night with all the lights it's just a real Serene place to be at night with your girlfriend
Season pass preview days are July 7-10th. Regular season first day is July 11th. You must register on their website which day you are planning on going.

They dont have any baby rides, if that is what your asking. My son was 2, almost 3 (the next month) when we went this past summer. I was a little nervous for him on a few things, specifically the little kids swings. But he did well on everything else. I wouldn't really recommend any younger riding the kiddie rides. I would recommend bringing a stroller. Alot of walking for a toddler. They do search everything before coming into the park.

You can go to ride safety center for a handicap paper. With that paper you go to handicap spot on rides and check in. They will give you a ride time, which is according to the same time if you were in line. For example if it took 20 mins if you were in line, then they would give you a time 20 mins from the time you checked in.
What's the price for seniors?

If over 70. Buy them online. They are $12 plus tax and processing.
If I purchased tickets for kennywood and did not receive a confirmation email where do I find my tickets
The ride and slide pass is for both parks. If you buy just a Kennywood season pass you usually have to pay an additional $18 or so to get the water park added
Kennywood is a GREAT place.Reasonably priced and AWESOME rides. And yes one VIPper individual. Also their policy on rain checks is cool. It barely sprinkled the day we were there and they gave all 8 of us rain passes.Have a great time. The Phantom will blow your socks off
.
Only some rides offer pictures, they take them while ur on the ride, and when u get off there's a picture booth somewhere by the exit of the ride, u can purchase them there
There is no ETA on when it will be open I spoke with a reliable source and was told that they are in the process ordering a replacement part. the sky rocket is up and running now
I seen Thomas plush as a prize in a toss game inside Thomas land . . Also there's a gift shop inside Thomas land that might have what you're looking for.

They do, I don't believe they have ever changed it. Additionally, I know many employers don't like when someone calls to confirm the status of their applications.
Yes there is water fountains at all the bathrooms.. The consession stands give a free glass of water.. The Cafe, has plastic glasses and several water stations inside
Ghostwood estate, at least you have something to do to pass the several minutes you're on it unlike Garfield's nightmare (or everyone's nightmare- my kids joke!)

54.99 ages 3-up age 55 and up 26.99 kids 2 and under free . Usually you can find deals online doing that time of the year for around 25$ to 30$ a ticket during open season so Google kennywood ticket sales during open season.
Yes I was wondering if anyone remembers going to Kennywood back in the 70s and doing the spin art activity? I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF ACTIVITY NAME? TY

Mary Brubaker | Nov 21, 2019
Spin art. You could do a ceramics class where there is a potters wheel and just spin your paint. I have a video of mine but it isn't Kennywood so I wouldn't post here.
They don't always run discounts for students everyday, but periodically they have student saver days. Usually before end of summer/start of school, and for Halloween nights. Not sure of Christmas.
Well as of this year and as long as they don't increase the prices the tickets are $41.99 online and $48.99 at the gate for adults. If your 13 yr old is under 46″ tall then $26.99 online and $32.99 at the gate. 3 yr olds and under are free. You can also buy tickets at Giant Eagle for a discount.
Regular season pass only covers admissions during the summer. Special events, Fright Nights Christmas light up, require separate tickets for admission.
No costumes, masks, or make-up.
From the Kennywood website:
Please note: Outside costumes, theatrical make-up, and masks are NOT permitted to be worn into the park during Phantom Fright Nights. No outside food or beverages are permitted. Heavy fog and strobe effects are in use throughout the park during Phantom Fright Nights.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 13

Please please please for the love of God shade the lines in the waiting areas to the ride omg it's 2018 have you guys been to other parks Kennywood is ghetto when did this happen?????
Kennywood has to be the biggest rip off paid to get in and 50% of the rides weren't running then this had school bands there also so the Rides that were open the lines were so long it wasn't funny, food and drinks also extremely overpriced,
Robert Dewitt | Nov 20, 2018
Bigdaddio79 | Nov 21, 2018
Yup. After they sold out to a foreign company its been downhill ever since.
Probably depends on the handicap... Some rides aren't handicap friendly and some rides have special handicap entrances...i would check with guest services for specifics
There is only one fee to get into the park. That includes all the rides. you used to be able to get in at a different fee if you did not plan on riding. They got rid of that years ago. There is a fast pass but regulated much better than the cedar fair parks.
Thinking about purchasing a pass. Does the park ever offer Buddy Days on the Saturdays or Sundays? If so, how many times during the season?
Michelle Kinzey | Nov 20, 2018
Emily Gasior | Nov 21, 2018
If you buy pass ask which one offers buddy days. I buy on black friday and its bronze pass which apparently doesnt include buddy days. Idk but that's what we were told. And best to call or check website as to when they are.
Not sure if the virtual reality isn't set up correctly or they just don't have enough people for it, It costs $5 per person. It was closed the whole day we were there. My son rode it before it was VR. I don't know if the just don't have the VR crowd for it or what. You would figure if people didn't want the VR, than it would have been closed sooner. I think it's silly to have a roller coaster like that, to be closed. If people don't want the VR, open it to what it used to be.
Is it true that you can purchase slide/ride combined discount tickets for kennywood and sandcastle for the same day.. I saw that in the question/answer section on the sandcastle reviews..Sandcastle closes early and we want visit the Amusement Park To
Stephanie Perry | Nov 20, 2018
Scott Borreggine | Nov 21, 2018
I know they have a ride n slide season pass so I'd be willing to bet they offer a single day version of it too.
Why is the Sky Rocket not operating, and what repairs are they doing exactly?????
The crane ride and the helicopter ride areas seem done. They were what seemed like halfway done with the fire truck ride and the buildings were up but the siding wasn't on yet when I was there 06/14/2018. Minimal track started. I would say maybe 1-2 more weeks. 3 weeks for finishing touches at the latest unless they have a setback.
You can see the area while waiting in the Raging Rapids line.
It wasn't opened on Thursday along with many other eateries and rides. It was very crowded and the lines were long. It just isnt as good as it used to be.
What time dus Kennywood close?? And when did it start to open??
Ann Butcher | Nov 20, 2018
HappyHufflepuff | Nov 21, 2018
Kennywood opens at 10:30 every day with rides opening around 11:00. It usually closes at 10:00, but it sometimes closes earlier depending on other factors like weather.
Kennywood operates nearby Sandcastles, a full-fledged waterpark. Combo tickets for both venues with discounts on line are available. The two water rides in Kennywood itself are great for cooling off on a really hot day and drying booths are available. But if water rides are your priority, go to Sandcastles.
Go to their website under season passes to view the various options and prices. There are several passes to choose from. You can see what you get with each pass.
Yes, it's about what Nicole said. And, like Ron mentioned, it's cheaper to look for deals. Giant Eagle sells them and you can also buy them from Kennywood's website at a discount. I'd call Giant Eagle first and ask when they have them.
Last year I forgot one of my fam's vouchers and we got in... that was a total waste of paper, I can't believe they're doing that again. All that paper smh. 😒
You will get a confirmation with the option to print tickets.. You can also use your phone and bring up the email at the park where they will scan the bar code
How munch are the tickets for fright night at the gate

$33.99 plus tax. You can get a discount if you buy them at a Giant Eagle in advance, or get a coupon for a discount from participating Spirt Halloween stores.

There are plenty of "free entry" parks like Conneaut, Waldameer, and just about any Pier park, but not Kennywood. Look for coupons or during the summer after 5 pm is cheaper. However if you have not visited in a long time, the park has fewer games than years ago. Thank the weird taxes for that.
