AMAZING AMTRAK SECURITY!!!!! The security guard who works for Amtrak who was working 7/26 between 7-8 by the Amtrak help desk. He has freckles around his eyes. YOU ARE THE BEST. So helpful. Really helped out a friend and me in a time of panic. He deserves a raise or a huge bonus or something!!!!!! Very safe and beautiful place!

Closest to the Capitol building. Best way to come by public transportation. Beautiful building but not well maintained. Lots of food options. …

Hi Eileen, Yes you can. I got the info from the front desk
Yes hun, they will help you. There is a help center there and depending on how long the layover is , you can take a stroll around DC and they have a lot of stuff you can do, a big food court amd plenty of little stores and coffee shops and bathrooms as well. Before you get off the train ask one of the ppl there and they can direct you where ever you need to go. Safe travels!
Yes train then the bus click the link for info https://goo.gl/maps/Dijb8LQUomofyMJ18
no
Not really. The 1st floor is where the trains are and shops. The food court is on the concourse level. There's a mezzanine above the 1st floor with more shops.
About 2.5 miles, pretty much right down Constitution Ave.
Yes there are buses in the parking lot
No, there's a very limited schedule you should check before you go.
I'm not sure if there is a parking lot. However, to pick up someone you can drive to the front or sides of the building depending on where they are standing to get picked. There are side entrances to the station too so be sure to get clarity prior to picking up anyone.
Huge food court on lower level. Several other places on main level, including Shake Shack
Hex no!! Their not trying to have folks come back like that... just keep it moving when you pass through💯👀🤣
Amtrak goes directly to BWI and the MARCs trains go to BWI as well. Take a regional Amtrak train from Union Station to BWI and trip is about 25 minutes. The first stop is New Carrollton and the stop after is BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport
24 min by bus. 36 min walk.
Ticketed Amtrak passengers can use the temporary bag storage for up to 24 hours at the rate of $10 per item. And $20 per bag without a train ticket. Amtrak parcel check area is located at Gate A. www.unionstationdc.com/rail
There is One at the noma-gallaudet Metro Station -- that's 1 subway stop away from Union station and a 8 minute walk
What train? As I would suggest to you - call Amtrak for your specific route and destination & time and Amtrak will give you the answer you really need to plan your trip,
Yes. Take the Red line to Gallery Place. Get off there, transfer to the Yellow line and get off at National Airport. It's easy.
If you are in the situation that you need to spend some time in the station, there are a few hotels or motels nearby that you can rest in for the night; or, if it is just a couple hours of layover, you can always relax at the VIP Lounge in the lobby of the station, or have a drink or grab a bite in or around the station. To make a recommendation, you should go to the Washington Court Hotel which is about five minutes walk from the station, it offers the comfort stay at an economical rate. Hope this information helps!
Red line to Metro Center, then transfer to Blue, Orange or Silver line depending on where in Arlington you are try to get to. Red line to Metro Center, then transfer to the blue, orange or silver line, depending on which Arlington location you intend to reach.
The Circulator bus will take you around the National Mall. Hop on outside Union Station and ride around to the Smithsonian. http://nationalmall.dccirculator.com/

Union Station, which is on the red line.
Make sure your SmartTrip is registered online to avoid that in the future. The station manager might have another idea, but generally I was out of luck in that situation.
All night. Megabus, Greyhound, and other bus systems. Check their websites.
