I wasn't impressed. If you really like coffee (no flavors) and chatting, then this may be the place for you. That's not me. I go to coffee shops to work and nibble on food outside of my office and home. On the drink front, I ordered a caramel macchiato ($4.85), and it was the size of those paper water cups you get at a gym or doctor's office water cooler. Plus they didn't have caramel. So I canceled that, and the cashier recommended iced mocha. That tasted like if I ordered a drink and let the ice melt and attempted to drink it, but all the flavor is gone. So the only good thing about this place for me was the Blueberry lemon scone (warmed) but not worth the $3.85. Plus, they don't have wifi. So that was a fail. Now I did read a few reviews that said they do have wifi. So context, I sat right outside at the tables and nothing showed in available networks. Maybe you can get wifi from Apollo since Wydown is connected, but then that's not Wydown's wifi, and the range is very limited if sitting on the other side of glass ensures the wifi doesn't even show up as available. Even other places showed one bar available. Wydown had nothing, definitely not anything that wasn't locked by a password. So I'll do a hard pass on Wydown.

Wydown is the definition of modern coffee shop aesthetics. Black and gold interior, floral designs, and friendly barista. Located inside the Apollo luxury apartment and steps away to the Solid State Bookshop. Will have to come back often!

The Wydown is 100% the coffee shop spot to hit -- I'm visiting for work, and have popped in more times than I'd like to admit for an iced oat matcha (DELISH). The staff is all so friendly - I have to shout out the H St. Icons Ashley and Izzy for being so wonderful. When you go, you HAVE to get the chocolate orange crinkle cookie - it's truly the best thing I have ever tasted in a cookie.

Really disappointing experience. This place is cute and the breakfast sandwiches are good, but the coffee and the barista’s attitude were both truly awful today. We got oat milk cappuccinos and they were so bad that all three of us only managed a few small disgusting sips. I don’t usually send things back, but since I had dropped $30, I politely asked if they could remake our cappuccinos since they were very clearly burnt. The woman working the register was very nice and accommodating, but the barista was incredibly rude and tried to gaslight us into thinking we didn’t know what a cappuccino was supposed to taste like. I would have been less disappointed if he had just declined to make us new drinks, rather than rudely telling us we don’t know what coffee is supposed to taste like. 0/10 for this barista. We did appreciate the woman at the register who tried to make up for the barista guy’s rudeness by offering us drip coffee instead.
