They truly care for animals birds ,we found a baby bird ,we dropped the nird off. We called to check on the bird and they gave us an updated status every time we called. I thought that was really nice of them.

Great service. We have all kinds of birds that fly in and get trapped in our building. The volunteers respond almost immediately and remove them safely and virtually without harm. Their work is always appreciated

Big Shout for Native Animal Rescue. A hummingbird was trapped in my garage this morning. I left the garage door open for hours, so the bird could find his way out. I tried some tricks to release the bird after looking online. Unfortunately, nothing worked. Finally, I called the Native Animal Rescue at 4:00 PM even though I was not sure that they could help out on Saturday night. Within twenty minutes, they sent out a very nice volunteer whose name is Bill. It took us an hour to catch the bird as I have a lot of roof beams. Bill checked the bird to make sure he did not get injured before letting him fly. I am very proud of them.

Absolutely! Just go online and fill out an application or stop on by between 8 and 5 and we will give you one. Our baby bird season will be in the spring and that is when we need volunteers the most, but we need volunteers all year round.
We have scrub Jay's and stellars Jays in our area. We haven't heard of any diseases that would cause odd feathers. Photos would help us, if possible.
Yes, you can bring it to us in the morning. We open at 8am. Thank you!
Native Animal Rescue charges $200 for our Barn Owl Nest Boxes and generally between $50 to $100 for installation.
In general, if the raccoon can manage to get around on its own, the best thing to do is help it heal by putting food out for it. A lot of times they will heal on their own with this support. It is very stressful on an adult raccoon to be caught and kept in captivity. If it doesn't show improvement and is having a hard time getting around, it might be able to be caught and brought in for treatment. Our raccoon expert says that dog food is better than cat food for raccoons.
Also, Big Creek Lumber on Soquel Ave. near 7th Ave.
No, sorry, we haven't received a bunny of that description. We'll let you know if we do. I assume you have checked the animal shelter on 7th Avenue.
The only other agency that you can call that you don't have listed is Fish & Wildlife. Adult deer are unable to be rehabilitated because they do not do well in captivity. If the deer can still walk around, it may be able to heal on its own in nature If you think the deer is suffering, Animal Services, the Police or Fish and Wildlife can humanely kill the deer to end its suffering.
No, we care for Native Animals only. Parrot questions can be directed to the SPCA.
Yes you can call the number on our website from 8 am until 7:30 PM in the winter. You can also put the bird into a box and bring it to 1855 17th avenue in Santa Cruz.
Marine Mammal Center would be able to answer this question since they handle porpoises and dolphins. Native Animal Rescue does not handle marine mammals.
Please keep trying. We are a bit short on dispatchers right now. If it is urgent call me at 247-0068. I am on another assignment right now but will help as much as i can.
We only rescue injured, sick or orphaned animals. For healthy animals, you can call Humane Wildlife Control at 855-548-6263.
Were you able to catch it? Ive brought sea birds to native animal rescue before and they take them
