My third time eating here for lunch. The mac n cheese is home style. I probably would have enjoyed the bread crumb topping to be a little crispier and a little more seasoned, and I would have liked a bolder cheesy flavor, but points for serving temp piping hot, super creamy consistency, and good call on the oversized elbow mac noodle. The side salad was a $5 addition and a great compliment with toasted seeds, quality mixed greens and a super tasty dressing. I'll be back again. If you are deciding between a toast/sandwich item and the mac n cheese, go for the toast/sandwich. The bread is from Companion Bakery and its the BEST thing ever.

We enjoyed our quick lunch outside, staff was friendly and service quick. Extensive menu! We liked the avocado toast, however the BLA had wáy too much lettuce compared to the BA - it felt like a salad with two pieces of bread. The menuboard also failed to mention the BLA had a mustard spread, it was tasty but it should be mentioned (allergy risk). The iced tea was fine but also really different than expected and not to my personal liking.

Great cafe food just a few minutes walk from both the Santa Cruz boardwalk and wharf. I had their Harvest Salad, chocolate croissant (from Companion Bakeshop), and chai latte. They have breakfast, salads, soups, sandwiches, pastries, coffee drinks, and ice cream (from The Ice Creamery). Good for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon treat. There's a mix of outdoor and indoor seating; if they're out of room, you can just get the food to-go and eat on the beach!

I was going to leave a a good review on the veggie breakfast burrito I ordered (which was delicious - expensive but delicious), but as I continued to eat it throughout the day I noticed that there were bits of wadded up napkin or paper towel in the burrito. At first I thought it was my imagination or my own napkin, but nope. It was inside the burrito. The first photo shows the brown bits of napkin or paper towel.

We do have a few seats on our patio, limited due to safe distancing policies. We also offer online ordering for pickup (thepicnicbasketsc.com) or delivery via DoorDash.
