They convinced me to do karaoke for the first time and I have terrible stage fright. The fact that I was comfortable enough to do it here, says a lot about the hospitality and welcoming environment of this place. Will for sure come back. Thank you so much! Drinks are priced good, too.

The Catalyst has space for 600 people between a main floor and two upstair balconies that's after the main lobby. It has an ADA compliant ramp and lift for physically impaired peoples to access the main floor, which I appreciate. The alcohol was considerably expensive, but partly worth the spend if you especially saved up for the occasion. The building is a tad bit dated, but it serves its purpose well, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and kind towards disabled folk. They were friendly and provided the safety necessary for an enjoyable experience.

Great club. Still the same as it was in 1980. Love the vibe. Staff is professional and friendly. Tix for shows are relatively cheap. One downside: No chairs in the balconies, and very few seats on the floor. Why?

This is a nice place for concerts and/or night club, spacious it has a complete bar of course, it is two floors and is located right on downtown Santa Cruz, right next to another bar and right across from the bus station. I believe it is open on weekends as a night club

I've gone to a few events at the catalyst from burlesque shows to concerts and ever had a problem just taking my camera in and taking photos. As far as I know the venue doesn't trip over it.
I would call and ask but i think you might need a special pass.
Yes you can....but you can also get them at the door , depending on the artist. Keep in mind though , that both the ticket holder and ticket buyer lines are about equal in length. So you're gonna wait to get in no matter what.
Everytime I go they don't check even when I was younger they never checked me
About 180 bottom and 80ish on top
I don’t think so. Always known as Catalyst.
Not anymore, you should go see Sevendust
All ages
Monday: poet Patriot Tues: boccis & blue Lounge Wednesday: Rosie McCanns Thursday: Blue Lagoon (biggest show) Check in with DNA's comedy lab for other shows. It's a converted movie theater, worth seeing even without a show, but he may have a headliner. The comedy night at the Catalyst fizzled. There are a few other shows but thats the main circuit. Crows Nest has a pro show on Sunday nights: $5 cover. Have a great time. The local entertainment mag is Good Times. Almost all you could wanna know in SC. Head down to the Cove and say hi. My name's Lucky I did the circuit faithfully last year but I'm doing it for fun. I been trying thru 2or3 careers.
Yes..I don't think they even check what you have in it
Yes. Around the dance floor and in the balcony
That is he vibe here. "On time " means whenever the band gets here but it is common that bands don't get a solid sound check. That makes for a lot of technical hiccups during the show andnslows everything down
Depends on the show. But in general, no Check by show
I went to a show last year there that was all ages but I'm not 100% sure that it's always all ages
Sure, why not?
This club is only a 20 minute walk from at least 15 hotels that I know of. So you don't have to worry about finding one. It all depends on your budget and taste.
Google the tour
Yes, it's in the front, which is more open, has bars, and is often set up with under and over 21 areas.
No. Sounds like a professional camera. Go somewhere else that doesn't mind cameras.
Probably
At the will call window. Just tell them your name.
No Prob Wristbands..
I believe they have one at the bar upstairs in the venue.
Worth the shot. Do most 16 year olds have an ID?
It's up to the group how long they play or do photos
As most venues say NO
As long as you have proof you should be fine and tbh they never really check ids unless your going to the bar
I would check out their website for that kind of info.
Not sure. You might want to call them first.
Depending on where you are coming from and timing.I had no trouble finding parking and I drove up from Pismo Beach plus slept in the van.
Nip vip seating.....but if you get there early enough , you might get decent balcony seating. Otherwise...it's standing room only.
Yes. If you bought them online, you can print them out or they will be mailed to you
It is on a first-come first-serve basis but the second floor, I'm not sure if they have an elevator lift.
They always require ID
Contact the venue
You should contact the venue.
Do you mean four events you can buy some online and they are also sold at the door
Thannks
You don’t need an id you can just walk in they didn’t card me and im under age
I was told no, and that I'd have to come back the day of
Depends on the band and what day of the week it is.
No cover charge..the cover is your concert ticket :)
My boss Joel Nelson owns the Catalyst if you are not satisfied with your purchase let me know and I can reach out to him.
The last meet and greet I went was after the show and it was quick like hello thanks for the support and then you can take a picture. I think it just depends on the artist and how much are they in a hurry
Whichever show you're going to should say if it's 21 and over. Just depends.
