In general, if the raccoon can manage to get around on its own, the best thing to do is help it heal by putting food out for it. A lot of times they will heal on their own with this support. It is very stressful on an adult raccoon to be caught and kept in captivity. If it doesn't show improvement and is having a hard time getting around, it might be able to be caught and brought in for treatment. Our raccoon expert says that dog food is better than cat food for raccoons.

Thank you so much for your quick response! Do you know if there is a specific food that is particularly good for raccoons that might help her heal faster? Right now she just eats our cat food
