This is the second tallest waterfall in NJ. Easy to get to (drive right to the bottom of the waterfall). Easy access = lots of people. The road to the spot is deteriorated and bumpy. Overall worth going and checking.

Beautiful falls. It’s a small hike to the river on the other side. But you can also drive and reach the other side to the river, which is heaven. So serene and beautiful. It’s a Panaromic lake surrounded by trees. You can camp, you can do a picnic. It’s calm and peaceful and very enjoyable day trip.

It was nice; the history getting there was also a great part of the trip. Could be a full day trip on these back roads. Old mine road for some reason is closed after the Walpack. Google maps show it and there some roads that are dirt. My mercedes had a workout that day. There is one thing I would like to check out; it is a marker on old mine road before you get to walpack. It says some revolutionary war officer is buried 300 yards to the east. Gotta check it out next time.

A wonderful hike. Accessible to most, not difficult. There are steep stairs to get to the top of the falls, but you can enjoy them from the bottom as well.

I would check the website. As far as I know, the park has been closed since last year due to being majorly damaged due to weather.
Dress for the weather. You don't need anything special for this hike. The falls are literally right across from the parking area.
I didn't see any vehicles while we were there two weeks ago.
Yes, but you can't drive up to it. There's a small lot off the main road about 2 miles away and the hike in is flat and easy.
They shut the water off at 23:59 Saturdays, turn it back on at 12:01 Monday.
Since it's in a state forest I would inquire with the Forest Department.
Spring is better though, anytime is a good time to walk the trails up there. The falls are a bit weak this time of year....but the leaf colors are awesome!
Yes you can, the parking are is right across the road from the falls. The roads that take you to the falls are very rough.
why would you get arrested this is not true at all families and kids swim all the time at the top of the waterfall and on deleware water gap website it sais swimming is allowed in bodies of water besides van campens glen. even if you do get problems about it stand up for your rights take it to court and use the joury to your advantage i doubt that the jury would vote you guilty in this country we have a right to fair trials and to be punished we have to be convicted of a crime is it really a crime to enjoy water ask yourself that question and theres your answer america dumps pounds of filthy chemicals sewage and coal ash into our water ways and your gunna give me a hard time about swimming absolutly not
No, you can park right across the street.
Sunrise to sunset
Nope parked on little dirt area side of the road by trail head other cars were and just hike in
Don't go there.. as nothing to see.. fall is almost dry, i had a rough evening walkimg down almost 2 miles to see nothing !!
It was straller friendly earlier but not now. Even you have to walk 2 miles to see a dry fall, I had rough evening walking down 2 miles and coming back to car just to see nothing but dry fall !
There is no fee to get into the park.
Yes, parking is very limited though
Was there last week, road was blocked around 2 miles before the falls. So can't drive up to the parking lot by the falls.
absolutely
The best and closes place you will find parking is 2 miles away near the Wallpack cemetery
I didn't even see any bathrooms when I went so I don't know
Yes, but it's closed to drive up, so it's about a 1.5 mile hike from where you park to the falls. Nice walk though on paved, shaded road so well worth it. There are some nice trails at the top of the falls if you want to hike a bit more.
Even before considering permits, I think you'll find that there isn't really space for that. Aside from the parking lot, there isn't a large area of flat land. There are 'flat' areas as you climb the mountain, but I'm not sure you'd want to that in formal attire.
The parking is right there. It is a very steep climb to the top
I havent seen anytime frame but it's open right now
Family friendly I would say. Children will need supervision and guidance along the trail, it can be slippery in places. The kids love going up to the top.
To start off you drive all the way in to the falls and there is parking but its limited depends on the time u go, I don't suggest u walk lol. It was my first time with a friend but it's an awesome experience.
If you do, you won't be there to get in trouble! Dude, have you seen the falls?! There is no place to jump from or to. It's rocks and the water below is so shallow, you will definitely be broken to peices before hitting the bottom!!
You can do whatever you want america discharges millions of toxic waste into sewage and pesticides into our rivers each year but likes to give us a hard time about swimming do as you please swim wherever you want just be nice to the trails animals and respect the waters by getting out to use the bathroom and not littering
I don't remember checking the cell reception but the GPS on the phone took us to the falls and back out again with no issues.
I believe the sign said sunrise to sunset. NJ Park service will have the best answer
