I purchased my 2016 KIA Sorento in October of 2018. Oil changes and everything has always been up to date along with regular maintenance. I never had any issues with it then in April 2022 I was driving to work and had complete engine failure with only 88k miles on it. The first obstacle was reaching KIA corporate. Would call several times a day just to be on hold for 30 plus minutes and sometimes over an hour. After speaking to several different people, they advised there was nothing to they could do, and I would have to pay for it out of pocket due to them saying they sent a piece of paper to the fist owner in June/July 2018 and then another one to me the end of 2019 or 2020. They were unsure of when it was sent to me and there was no proof that I received it. With my hands being tied since still owed money on it I went ahead and paid the $5700 to have my engine replaced. Fast forward I finally got my car back the end of July and two days later realized my heat no longer worked (worked before car went in to have engine replaced). Here it is over two weeks later, and I still do not have my car back. I have to call the dealership for an update and when I do call them, they have no clue who I am or why I am calling. Even though throughout this whole process with engine have only spoken to 1 service rep. KIA’s customer service across the board is very poor. I called the dealership today and they said they finally heard back from corporate again to try and run more tests and they will follow up with me by EOB I am not holding my breathe.

So to start my wife owns a Kia Sportage. We brought it to the mechanic and we were told it needed a new engine. The car has 86k miles and is under the 10 year mark so it meets the criteria of 10 years 100k miles. We were told that Kia would not cover it by our local dealership. I called corporate to file a complaint and was put on hold for over 2 hours. Now it is not hard to see how Kia operates. When you want to make a complaint they put you on hold forever hoping you will hang up and forgo your complaint. If that was not their motive they would have an option like every other major corporation to hold your place in line and receive a call back. This is not the first issue we have had with Kia as a company. If I have any advice it would be to buy domestic because Kia does not stand by their product and they have terrible customer service!

Chuck Goudie Channel Seven (7) News, Investigative Reporter just contacted me with resources. Mr. Dwight Taylor Merrillville, Indiana Kia Headquarters Corporate Office 111 Peters Canyon Rd, Irvine, CA 92606 Thomas Kia 9825 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland, IN 46322 Anyone, or if you have a family member or friend who have experienced the terrible Customer Service at Thomas Kia Dealership in Highland, Indiana, or any Kia Dealership while conducting business with them, will you please pay attention. In the latter part of 2021, my wife and I bought a 2016 Kia Sorento automobile from the Thomas Kia Dealership in Highland, Indiana. Approaching the third week of ownership of our Kia, the oil light flashed. I immediately pulled over and checked the oil. Believe it or not, there was no oil in the vehicle. I put five quarts in it and drove directly to Kia. The Service Manager, Sales Manager and other employees, including mechanics appeared to be genuinely concerned about the situation. The sales people said repeatedly that they thoroughly go over their cars upon receiving them. One thing that disputed that statement was the oil cap had white dots on it after I looked real close. That meant they conducted the "Oil Consumption Test" on our vehicle before they sold it to us. The aligned dots should still be aligned upon returning for an oil consumption test. If the aligned white dots were not aligned during the test, it would indicate to the mechanics if anyone removed the oil cap for any reason. Yesterday, I concluded my "Oil Consumption Tests." Thinking I was going to be informed when I can drop off the vehicle to have the engine replaced, I was told Kia was not going to pay for an engine. Since then, I've been all over the internet and I cannot believe the number of complaints with the Better Business Bureau and other platforms. What I would like to know is how does Kia get away with ripping the people off?

My 2017 Kia was involved in an accident on Jan 2, 2022. My car has been in the body shop since then. They have yet to find the parts needed. I am not satisfied have called Kia Corp & call center several times and get no result. I still continue to pay $520 a month for car payment. Kia still produces cars and I’m not understanding why I can’t get the parts to this car. I asked about them loaning a car and I was told to rent a car and I may be able to be reimbursed but not sure. Kia you aren’t standing behind this and all I really ever purchased was a Kia but I’m definitely not a happy customer.

this problem is not being resolved by kia so there is a class action going on now
They have pitiful customer service. The worst
The oxygen sensors most likely led to the catalytic converter going bad. But that's why there is warranty. For the times when a manufactured part fails prematurely! Kia has an amazing warranty.
I’m going to the same problem 59,000 miles on an engine been in a Kia garage for two weeks Case number as well keep getting the runaround supposed to be 10 year 100,000 miles the only thing we’re getting is screwed around No matter who you call
Stay tuned!!!
Nannie Stovall insured person . Driver is grand daughter. Got a 2015 Kia motors keeps shutting down .cannot drive . Will Kia pay for my towing ! My insurance company don’t want to cover any more towing . Do I need to join the class action law suite
No replies from Kia America yet.
Yes, I hate the trickery. No one knows or cares what's going on. It shouldn't take 2 days to buy a car, especially when everything is done over the phone I did not get trade in on my paperwork, I had to ask about it. three different sale prices on the car, charged for unwanted extras That all happened in March, here it is June and still is not resolved. NEVER AGAIN
Watch out for oil burning on this model. Mine burns oil had the consumption test done. After 1,000 miles after the oil change my oil was down 2/3. They told me that’s normal oil consumption. That I am to check my oil every 1,000 miles and top it off. Mind you I had full synthetic done. Wouldn’t need another oil change till January or another 4,000 miles. If I went that long the oil would be empty. They told me just keep checking oil between oil changes. What a joke. Second and last Kia for me
Yes. This fall
Dealers are franchised members of the automotive business. Not directly connected to the car companies.
You will need to reach out to the office at Downtown LA as dealers are franchised members of the auto business.
This is the corporate office location. You'll need to contact Kia Irvine or other local dealership.
Did you have to pay for it yourself
All lies My car is 59,000 miles on it and it’s sitting in the Kia garage for two weeks with no response from corporate
My kias engine caught on fire last may 2020 it's now august 2021 still waiting on them to do something it's been at dealership since February 2021
Caranddriver.com might be a better source of vehicle news.
Hi Jessica, based on doing a quick search, this sounds like a vehicle financing question. If this is the case you would need to contact Kia Financing, not Kia Corporate. Kmfusa.com
2.5L Turbo GT models are already being sold. Check with your local dealer. Additional GT1 package also available.
Car-los auto repair and tires, 1100 Nogales St, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 If you take it there, he will tell you if it's cheap to fix or not, the family-owned business, they don't bs like the other mechanics that look at you like a dollar sign if you're a female or a guy that doesn't know anything about cars.
No, not at all. While I have had an issuse in the past and Kia is still trying to make this right. In any business you want repeat business, you should never, ever, let the paying public down. So, no as far I know, not, all Kia parts pepole are rippoff artist.
I had a recurring problem with squirrel(s) in my 2013 Sorento. They tried to nest on the shock tower during COVID when I wasn't driving much, stole most of the firewall insulation, then ate through the air bag wiring harness. I ordered peppermint oil concentrate in a spray bottle on Amazon. I spray it in the engine compartment every two weeks and have no more problems with the rodents. They HATE the smell and won't go near it.
In my opinion smog devices help engines be more efficient by burning unburned gas.
