This park is our favorite. Huge oaks, rolling greens, and a cool river. The parking is only $6, I think it should be more. I appreciate how security makes sure the homeless don't overrun the place. In my opinion the security is unsung heroes of the place along with the gardening staff.

Great place for a picnic or getting out of the river after you float. We prefer getting out here because its easier to get an Uber back to the takeoff point we left from before floating than some of the other disembarkment points.

Love this park! Makes for a beautiful walk. Plenty of nature...hawks, geese, deer, an occasional coyote, and the American River. This is a great spot for bird watchers! You can also find shaded picnic tables.

You can pay for annual pass, which works great. ...or pay at the station when entering. When you get an annual pass, you find yourself going more often. Its wonderful
Effie Yeaw Ctr is a good start https://www.sacnaturecenter.net
Fireworks are shown at Hagen park in Rancho cordova
Lots of folks fish at Grist Mill @ American River (access on both sides of the River). This is below Ancil Hoffman.
Use the back entrance by the Nature Center so you don't have to pay to get in the park right outside the back side of the nature center park your car and walk in plenty of trees to hang a hammock and if you get hot jump out of your hammock and jump in the American River
👣💞👣 To find Ancile Hoffman Park, it's East off California St. Find Fair Oaks Blvd Going E/W, turn South, after several blocks, the park will have a sign saying Ancile Hoffman Park! It costs $5.00 a day! (Seasonal tickets can be bought for around $55.00 p/yr!) (The BEST part is that pass gets you in FREE all yr to any park along The American River!) Its "Magnificent"!!! Remember: If you haul anything in, you can also haul it OUT again! "Love our Earth kindly!"👣💞👣 ( This was in answer to: Belinda Wilhelm 🍀🌎🌸
I saw some people reserve the benches which BBQ pits are close to the benches. So it would be better to reserve the area if you want bench and BBQ pit, because BBQ pits are less than 10 and its reserved or first come first serve.
Yes
There are Park Ranger/Security personnel that patrol near and at the closing time to ensure all visitors leave during sundown.
Swimming in any river can be dangerous because of the current. Even in shallow water the bottom shifts because of rapid currents. If you decide to go, be sure to wear a safety vest. There are signs with warnings, which people ignore. Many die in this river every year. Be safe!
Sure you can.
At a park? Is this a serious question?
Last time I was there they removed all the targets.
Drive in, remember to pay the $5 parking or you will be ticketed, head straight back. Whe you come to the stop sign you can go right/forward to the gold course and the river will be on your left. I suggest going left towards the Effie Yaw Nature Center. They have educational exhibits and great paths that take you right to the river.
No it's a walk through untamed brush, but it's quite and peaceful when you get to it. Try Sarah court park it's a 100 foot walk
7 dollars to park. Then it is about a quarter of a mile to the rocky shore whete you will have to walk through to get to the water. There are benches in the shade where you can look out at the river
Fishing there is best up-river jusr a tad at Effie Year Nature Center.
Well, it does cost money if you bring your car in if you park inside. $5. But if you park outside you can certainly walk in for free. It's an awesome place to run with your dog!
