Homeward Bound was fabulous! Responded right away and made the adoption process so easy. We couldn't be happier with our girly π₯°

Great rescue!!! We adopted a puppy from them. We originally applied for a different dog. The foster was honest and up front and we ended up with another dog that was perfect. The foster was amazing and she truly loved the puppy. I highly recommend them!

We welcomed Freddie an older Parsons Terrier into our home. The representative from Homeward Bound was very helpful and was interested in seeing that he was a good match for his new family. As is true with many older dogs Freddie has his frailties but HB was up front describing his needs and they clearly had his best interests as their number one priority. I would recommend considering this rescue group to folks seeking a forever friend.

Awesome organization. The volunteers and foster homes are the best. They all deserve medals. Benji isnβt the first adoption from homeward bound. Will not be the last. Thank you Homeward bound for allowing us to adopt.

Not true. I adopted a 13 week old puppy..the screen applicants to make sure the dog is the best home possible and is the right fit. If you didn't qualify to adopt, maybe you should ask why instead of trashing a really great rescue
We are people like this, and we adopted from Homeward Bound.
Yes they do. You can call them at 202 front st.schenctady n y.12305. You'll fine there number on line. Because of many volunteers. That's so nice you care for beautiful animals. A like always appreciated.
I absolutely understand people living with limited resources. Many rescue groups will cover food and medical expenses for fosters, but owning and caring for a dog is an ongoing expense, roughly$1000 a year. Consider fostering, you can save a life and not break the bank
No I'm afraid not. The dogs currently available for adoption can be found @ http://www.homewardbounddogrescue.com/pets.php Thanks for your inquiry!
If you are rerferring to surrendering a dog to our organization, all of our dogs are in foster care and most of our fosters have their own personal dogs. You can find our surrender guidelines through the following link: http://www.homewardbounddogrescue.com/surrender_info.php
Hello Joyce - Please fill out an application through the link below and indicate on the third line that you are interested in fostering, thank you. http://www.homewardbounddogrescue.com/application.php

The reality of being a rescue that is responsible is having to tell some people that they don't make a good fit for certain animals. If you have kids and want to adopt a dog that has been surrendered because it played too hard with small kids or was afraid of them they will deny you. Unfortunately all of those people take to the internet to air their grievances. Adopted two puppies from homeward bound (Scooby is my profile pic) and they were nothing but professional and honest throughout the process. The places you should run from are the people that do not have an qualification process and will give dogs to people who are not a good fit.
Yes u can email them Or get information on line to get a volunteer to get back to u. I have no phone number to help u. But if u go on line someone will get a hold of you. They always need help in Schenectady. Good luck to you.
You should call Saturdays between 10 am and 1 pm. Someone should be able to guide you. Good luck!
$250 for dogs over 2 & $350 for dogs under 2

Absolutely not! They foster and find loving homes for each and every dog
I just adopted a puppy from there and they were excellent. Their open houses are a little chaotic and they are super careful about who they approve to adopt but it's for the safety of the animals and if you care about animals you shouldn't mind going through a process.
