We originally rented with Budget, but when they couldn’t help us we went over to Hertz. I regret not starting out with them! Jose was awesome and helped us so much when we weren’t sure what our options were. We felt like we were in really good hands! Our rental car was very clean and getting the car was extremely easy. I highly recommend them out of everyone in the SJC airport!!

I’m trying to review Thrifty at this location but couldn’t find Thrifty on google. However, Thrifty was acquired by Hertz and Hertz counter rep processed my rental paperwork. So I decided to rate my review here. When I arrived at Thrifty counter, they showed me to go to Hertz counter. The line was not long but I had to wait 30-40 minutes because there were only 2 employees at the counter. The counter rep tried to sell loss damage waiver (LDW) insurance that I didn’t want. I only asked for accident insurance which was only $16.35/day. He also tried to sell refueling service which I said no. Later on I found out that they still charged me LDW insurance ($30/day) and refueling service $107. I came back to ask to remove both of them. This time I met different Hertz counter rep, Ted. He was super helpful. He said he was able to remove the refueling service but couldn’t remove LDW insurance. He even asked me who did this to me and I pointed the guy next to him. That counter rep looked at me just like he won. Very bad service!!! I received a survey for this service and I rated all 1 star. Received an email from Hertz operating manager to ask about this experience. I emailed him back on 07/27/22 and requested a refund of LDW insurance. I’ll update later if I get any response.

Barbara (the manager) and her staff went above and beyond to help me find a car I wanted. I am a hertz presidential circle member and the gold and presidential circle lots didn’t have what I was looking for and their staff went above and beyond to help me find a different vehicle. I ended up with a 2022 Toyota Highlander. I will always rent from hertz because they care about what your needs are as a customer. The only catch is to ALWAYS remain calm and patient. I see other customers always yelling and screaming but just be kind and patient and they WILL help you find what you want. Look forward to renting again and again from SJC location. I've been renting here monthly or bi-monthly for the past two years. Today, an employee who was NOT processing my reservation and was not the manager of this location effectively accused me of stealing the discount code of a company that has been my employer for more than 20 years. They removed my corporate rate on the spot because I did not travel to town with a corporate badge. (Why would I?) I see the same counter personnel every two weeks, and today I am called a thief. Two weeks ago, when I was here, I was told I am not a Gold Member. I had to show them my profile in the Hertz app, which reflects my Gold Member status. They still have always treated me terribly because they are simply rude. Will be checking my other corporate discounts for better car rental options.

510 Newhall St, San Jose, CA 95110 is a Chevron. It is on the west side. But typically 30 cents per gallon less than those on the east side of the airport.

Hertz will rent to you if you're 20 or older and have a valid driver's license. However, there's a surcharge for being under 25.
No shuttle bus required for Hertz. The rental and car selection is within the airport and you can walk to it in a couple of minutes

A bus shuttle comes if you are in terminal A if you are on terminal B you can take a walk to it.

I haven't ever taken a Hertz shuttle to hotel. You might ask hotel you are staying if they have a complimentary shuttle. If I arrive late, I shuttle to hotel and back in morning to pick up car. No sense paying for car to sit overnight if I am not going to use it or pay hotel parking fees, if applicable.
Last I checked the terms of Hertz state that the normal cost apply for the car driven up to 5K miles. You should check in with Hertz if you plan to do a considerably long trip

Is the deposit for hertz car rental at airport more expensive than other locations for locals?. Last rental Hertz rep wanted to hold $1000 deposit on credit card which to me is ridiculous especially with me being a gold member. Looking for rental this weekend. Customer sercvice stated the max hertz can hold is $200. Please advise.
Yeah its almost impossible to get to the people at the desk. I once had to park my car in front of the outlet for a call centre to figure out how to guide me to the drop off location!!
They have the hertz car drop off facility with keys in the car.
