Car was clearly a rental car. Dings, dents and dirty interior when I picked it up. Car needed service at time of pick up. I paid a upgrade fee and ended up with a downgrade. The upgraded car I was given had no high beams, took 25 minutes to get me in a downgraded car. Didn’t get my money back from the downgrade. Customer service was horrible to deal with and extended the reservation for a day, cost me double the daily fee. Do yourself a favor and rent with someone else.

After booking a month in advance, and calling the day before to make sure a specific vehicle that would fit my family was available, it was not. I know that car rental companies treat Rentals like first come first serve even if you book in advance – that is why I called the day before and specifically told them I needed a car that seats seven and that just any other car would not do for us. I was assured that one would be available when I got there. We had to wait over an hour for somebody to return a car so we would have one. When I asked to add on an hour or two to the return time I was told it would be $99 an hour. Also, before my flight I got on and chatted with a customer service agent on the app and they told me it would be $14 for a booster seat. I double checked and asked if it would be $14 for the entire rental time or per day. The agent told me for the entire rental time. So, I left our booster seat at home and got on the flight. When I got to the San Jose airport budget rental they told me it would be $14 per day. It’s just really hard to trust a Company that runs like a used car salesman wrote their policies.

The car rentals are cheaper but that is the only good thing about this place. If your willing to wait an INSANELY long amount of time to get it. Even if you have a reservation there is no seperate line so you are stuck waiting forever for the tellers to stumble through the whole reservation process with everyone else. Never more than 2 people working the front desk apparently. If you are in any sort of hurry expect to be late.

I should've read the reviews before booking. It took an hour after my pickup time to leave. The car was still being detailed and when they gave it to me with the gas almost on E. The vehicle has a bad smell and is noticeably unclean in the interior. Worst rental experience by far. They also charge higher for airline miles. Literally a few days in the key fob battery was dying so I called customer service who claimed I could get help with a new battery or vehicle at ANY location... which was a lie I had to go to the airport. They also didnt change the battery and just gave me a new vehicle which thankfully I was prepared for and didnt have a lot in the car and they didnt charge for gas.

https://www.flysanjose.com/rental-cars The Rental Car Center is located directly across from Terminal B. Terminal B passengers can walk across Airport Drive at the crosswalks from baggage claim to reach the Rental Car Center. Terminal A passengers may take any Airport blue shuttle bus to or from the Rental Car Center.
You can pay with a debit card but you need a credit card to make a deposit. Or, you have to be out several hundred $ on holdup to 3 days after you turn the car in. Fox is a little more flexible and cheaper.
No. But you can park you car at the airport parking. That will cost you $$.
No
Kini is correct.
Yes.
Back at the airport in the parking deck. Just follow the signs for your rental company. Someone will approach you and guide you as you arrive close to the rental return deck.
