One of the most amazing scenic views and nail biting drives I've done in awhile. Narrow road to the top with sheer cliffs but some of the most beautiful landscapes you'll see. Visitor center at the top had a decent exhibit about Pikes Peak and had to get the 🍩 donuts, even if they were $30 or something crazy. Definitely a place you need to check out if not afraid of heights! Tickets were about $50 for a family of four, plus you needed a $2 reservation fee for a specific time block during the day. Likely so it doesn't get super crowded on the mountain. Well worth the trip.

It took awhile to drive up to the top. It was great to reach the top. There is train to take you to the top. There is a visitor's center up there. A gift shop with great items to purchase. We had a pass to get into the park. It was purchased before we got to the park. Make sure you purchase your pass first!

This is the best mountain in the USA! Tips if you plan to travel up the mountain. 1) If you’re a beginner or not so experienced driver, take the shuttle and don’t drive. 2) Have a good 1/2 - 3/4 tank of gas. 3) Make sure you have good Brakes 4) Know how to operate you low gears (L, 1, and 2) you cake ride your brakes the entire way down. They will get hot! 5) Take a sweater, jacket, or sweats ! It is about 35-45 degree cooler than it will be in the city. 6) Check the forecast and go on a clear day so you can take in the captivating scenes going up the mountain or it will be like driving in the fog. 7) Have a full charge on your cell device.

We drove to the top and WOW! Definitely worth the price. My wife was terrified but the kids and I loved it. Take it easy on the speed but soak in the views! Be sure and have a vehicle that will get into a low gear for your descent. Burning out your brakes is a real threat. Loved it. Highly recommend!
